Re: Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday
What I can't understand is why so many people are supportive of someone who verbally and physically abuses a work colleague?
Having said that, if he had punched the vertically-challenged one and wrapped that hideous orange Zonda around his head, it would have made me smile :D |
Re: Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday
Indeed how some can support him beggars belief as there are simply no excuses for what he did.

But, but, but.....

Re: Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday
I read somewhere today that the Director General of the BBC bit someone on the ear years ago. The truth is clear, without the work Clarkson put in building the brand of Top Gear up then the BBC would have £65 million less a year.
Regardless of this incident, you cannot deny he is pretty much Top Gear to a lot of fans, fans who will not watch it with anyone other than Clarkson in. Including me. |

it happens with Big Brother all the time. they say "The show's ruined for me... I'm off. not watching it no more!" but they still are. |
Re: Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday
True. Be interesting to see what viewing figures are for the new look Top Gear without Clarkson.

Re: Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday
I nearly did a Clarkson at work today.
I was off for 2 days after a gout attack, and the manager we have to see to get a sick for from wanted to see me, but he didn't. After the current situation I'm in I will lose it with him, exRAF or not. |

Make no mistake, the BBC will try very hard indeed to keep it going with new presenters. |

Then there'll be personality - will JC's replacement have one or will they opt for yet another bland, inoffensive, left leaning, 'face which fits'? I dare say that female German Nurburgring specialist Sabine Schmitz would tick a number of boxes, including diplomatic ones, but would have the downside of inducing within the male viewers and presenters certain traits the Beeb might deem unsuitable for a family show... :) Anyway, it'll be a hard act to follow for whoever they choose. JC's humour was a big part of the show - anyone who tries to copy it will be accused of just that and if they don't, the show will have lost a key element of its appeal. |

l have no doubt they will keep it going but its going to be very hard for them to get someone with a certain aura and gravitas in my opinion. |
Re: Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday
The thing is Den as there are more channels with more choice, viewing figures are likely to suffer across the board. Also people have the ability to watch shows on catchup etc. so live viewing figures, if that's what you're referring to, might not tell the whole story.
