Yep, I seem to recall Sky saying it is not about making money from Atlantic, its about subscriptions only. That being said if VM were to ever give Sky the money they want for it, we may well get it.

I guess the price Sky want is to help off-set any potential lost revenue from customers potenially leaving if someone else got Atlantic.

I can't imagine customers leaving Sky for VM just because of one channel.
It is probably more to do with new customers choosing which provider to go with. Sky is using Atlantic as a selling point, rather than to keep customers from leaving.

No - Dundee, Perth etc currently don't have a 159. Glenrothes is the only place on the Dundee headend that gets STV Edinburgh.

Strange, as Dundee is closer

Yes that`s the opinion I have come to. Whether it actually works though is another matter.

Yeah I think Sky maybe value Atlantic too high specially as an individual channel.

I certainly would welcome Atlantic onto VM, but I definitely won't be leaving to join Sky because of it.

Maybe Sky should survery us VM customers and see what % of people would leave VM just to access Atlantic...

I seem to recall some posting something about the whole advertising revenue malarky, may have imagined it though and happy to be proved wrong. If VM got Atlantic whilst they were still giving BT Sports as part of XL and launched a 50% off the XL package, I imagine a lot of families with very little expendable cash would happily take a cheaper deal from VM if offered. I may be wrong, but in my eyes VM with SA is a much better whole package than Sky. Each to their own though, I know my brother had an awful time with VM and refuses to go back.

I agree, VM with Atlantic would be a much better package that Sky is offering. Would love to see VM topple them, but remember not everywhere has access to VM, they only cover around 50% of the country. This means not everyone would be able to move even if they wanted too.

Sky would also give discounts for their own customers who want to leave...I imagine all providers play that card.

If Sky did a proper survey they may find it's not as popular as they want us to believe it is, or people arent really bothered about 1 channel when it comes to selecting the best deal.

Are you serious ? Trust me Sky conduct lots of surveys and consumer feedback , most of it I've took part in has clearly indicated Atlantic as one of the key reasons people stay with Sky.

Earlier someone mentioned the pop up channels on Sky Movies and Sky Sports this is regularly surveyed so whether you love or hate it clearly the majority surveyed are in favour of it.

My comment was tongue-in-cheek, sorry mate....

I moved from Sky to VM and Atlantic certainly didn't change my mind about leaving.

I'm sure tons have done the same not everyone is interested in Sky Atlantic plus broadband can be a key factor for many stuck on long lines with slow ADSL speeds.

No need to apologise........your more than entitled to an opinion it would be boring if we all agreed.:D

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2015) Vol. 1

I would love SA to come onto VM. Many would i am sure.

As has been said previously the fact it is not on VM has not made me or others cancel and jump to sky.

i did get Now Tv for a few months -it was orginally £4.99 pm. I could just about justify it at that price. There was enough content that i personally liked.

Blue Bloods
Game of Thrones
Luck
Boardwalk Empire
Ray Donovan

But i had all the other channels that are on Now Tv through VM (Fox, Sky 1 etc)
so i was paying just for SA really.

Now the price has gone up to £6.99 (and its not even in HD) i have now cancelled. I would not pay £7 extra a month to have SA on VM either.

Of course Game of Thrones start again soon so that may test my resolve.
