To balance the argument out , Sky have only offered triple play since around 2006 there growth in triple play has been phenomenal plus VM have always had fibre optic Broadband speeds something Sky could only dream of however with BT's fibre footprint growing daily and already larger than VM's this eventually will bring fibre availability to the majority of Sky's subscriber base.

Indeed a lot of what you say is true to a certain extent except that Virgin's broadband will always be comfortably ahead of Sky's no matter what thus also in the TiVo box Virgin has a huge advantage over Sky in regards to having a far superior STB and that is unlikely to change for the forseeable future.

I have been with VM / Telewest for about 14 years and I have excellent BB, but that is not to say that in the future Sky will not be able to equal or better VM.
To you the Tivo is the deciding factor, but to others content is more important so it is horses for courses Den. I personally have no need for Tivo. I have stayed with VM as I have extracted an overall £20 a month saving when the prices go up, otherwise I would have been gone.

Indeed everybody has their own opinions and thoughts on things and what might be alright for Ben or Rose might not suit Bill or Sue.

Richard, I am beginning to think you are losing the plot, old chap. I do not have an unhealthy obsession with what you watch on TV.

My point is that you have attempted to discredit Al Jazeera with a comment on its 'subtle bias' and you appear never to have watched the channel. You have not backed up your comment with any credible sources and it just seems to have come out of nowhere, which to me indicates a subtle nationalistic bias on your part.

I don't care that you haven't watched the channel (I don't think you would have been so cagey about the question had you in fact done so - it's a simple yes or no).

I have worked out for myself that your comment was made without your having even watched the channel so we can take your criticism as not having much credibility.

That is all. What a fuss![COLOR="Silver"]

Any "fuss" has been created by yourself.

As previously explained on numerous occasions, I have given all the answers that I am able to, will not be betraying any confidences and see no point in this thread being further disrupted. Repeatedly spamming this thread will not change the position.

Assumptions are never helpful and rarely true.

No-one else appears to have the slightest interest in my either my viewing habits or news sourcing arrangements.

Why?

Because other members have more important things to worry about and the fact that this is a thread devoted to new channels that may be coming to Virgin Media- some respect for the OP wouldn't go amiss.

If you wish to continue discussing Al Jazeera and/or your petty vendetta, I suggest you do so here:

Richard, until you become a Mod/Admin, please do not give instructions on how/where to post to other CF'ers.

And what about ESPN being included for free in the XL package? That is a separate subscription on Sky.

You seem to have a very selfish view on what channels should be included in the price.

I didn't give any instructions, it was merely a suggestion to help keep this thread free from repetitive clutter that can be legitimately discussed elsewhere, if it needs to be discussed at all.

It can't make interesting reading for others.

There aren't enough hours in a day as it is, so I have no plans to take on any more work :D

Not selfish at all, why would I be willing to pay an extra quid a month for a channel that I'd have no interest in?

ESPN is already included so no price rise. If VM suddenly started sending letters out that people are going to have to pay another £1 a month on top of their already expensive services people will not be happy. If Sky Atlantic was an optional extra no one could complain. The people who want it would get it and the people who don't want it don't.

So you believe that you would be betraying a confidence if you divulged whether you had ever watch Al Jazeera?

I don't know what you're on, but can I have some of it please?

This is not a vendetta, Richard. I was simply testing the legitimacy of your comment on bias. Consider it tested.
