I agree with anap.

we as customers should always push for the best deal possible, even if it does look unreasonable.

Put it this way.. how many of us would walk into a furniture store, and pay the cash price for a new sofa, without even trying to haggle?

The difference is in the discount for the additional set top box, mine is £15 and yours is £9.50. Weird.

The £9.50 discount is the normal one, not sure why you've got extra there. £92.49 is what I'm paying.

Don't think you get a discount for paperless billing, don't they just charge you extra if you want a paper bill?

So new customers pay £88.50 and long term loyal customers pay £92.49?

Couple of years back, around xmas time. Virgin Media stated that existing customers would get the same deals as new customers. They said a lot of other things as well, but they've not even tried to keep that promise at all!!

Does anyone remember that?

The thing is, I can accept a new customer getting several months at a discounted price. However when this period is over and they go up to standard prices, I'd expect those standard prices to be the same for everyone. That doesn't appear to be the case with the VIP pack. The new customer offer is £82.50 for 6 months, which then increases to the "standard" price of £89.50 (plus seemingly an extra £1 off for e-billing, taking it to £88.50). A long term customer with e-billing seems to be paying £92.49? This doesn't seem right to me.

Do agree with you matey,VM do need a restructure of prices and bundles.Which they are doing with the VIP package,It is crazy how everyone is paying different prices for same products. But as stated above the same thing is happening at SKY

Re: VIP/VIP+ New and Improved VIP Package

Hehe, I am considering acting on this considering I am a VIPer with two V+ boxes and 50Mbit.

However coming to think of it, I would like to upgrade to their 100Mbit when that goes live. This makes me wonder what is best to do. I know I am out of the 12 months for everything and will definitely be calling retentions.

I just wonder what is the best to do considering I want the new channels, but also the new speed coming out later this year.

Any advice on how I could approach this would be greatly appreciated.

I can see the 50mb joining the VIP Package but not the 100mb, you would have to pay extra for 100mb.

100mb is only the start with the future BB and TV service been linked all fututre TV will be streamed via BB and not via satalite and so on.

So stay and wait for the new TIVO and VIP package coming within the next 3-6 mths.

Yeah, I am not too concerned about paying extra for the 100Mbit, however we want to get the new channels, and considering we are out of the 12 month contract I am considering retentions. I don't want to call tomorrow and change it, if it means 3 months down the line the VIP packs change and I am stuck within a 12 month contract for the new channels.

If VIP changes then surely your package will change with it!
