I think its amazing how the commentators have changed from this will be a pushover, Algeria are gash, this should be a walk in the park before the game to the current post mortem and discussing whats needed to get beyond the initial stage.

I think they are more suprised than we are.

A team ranked 8-ish should not be worried by the likes of the USA, Algeria or Slovenia.

Crap manager and a few good players who can not play as a team = England.

I would not be surprised if they fail to get out of the group

Could well finish 2nd in the Group now.

To be fair they go down as one of the other European sides being crap at the moment. I think there might be some merit to the suggestions of season fatigue..

If I was in the crowd I wouldnt boo, what will it achieve? Will do more harm than good. I doubt anyone questioned the manager in quals, its the teams fault end of. Hes a world class manager

Capello just gave an interview and he didn't appear to give a toss. Says it all really.

The amount of times lampard, gerrad and rooney gave the ball away was shocking. There were times where they couldn't find a man 5 yards away. Surely noone can blame capello for that! What you can blame him for was not taking lamps off and replacing him with joe cole with 25 min to go.

Rooney should STFU.

When fans pay thousands to travel around the world to see their team in a World Cup -and get that - they are entitled to boo. Its not all Rooney's fault but it's not like he was amazing either was it?

A joke to cheer us up:

The England team went to visit an orphanage in South Africa. "It's so good to put a smile on the faces of people with no hope, constantly struggling and facing the impossible".... said Jamal Mboto, aged 6.
