Plain ole Ubuntu brown...with a tiny touch of Vista blue.:)


Not sure if i like the Ubuntu brown or loathe it but i could`nt imagine Ubuntu with any other default color now....regardless of how s**t it might look:)

EDIT: For those that mabey dont know the "blue/brown" debate in Linux can cause just as much sillyness as the Windows/Linux debate,or the Sky/Vm debate even .:)

Yea im not that keen on city/landscape photos, but finding any good widescreen wallpapers is pretty hard (well, good ones at least)

Just compiled latest version of compiz-fusion from scratch, which seems to make it alot quicker than the available debs.

I remember seeing the video for it away last year and thinking it looked kinda cool though.It`s a bit like most of the compiz plugins though.

Good fun at first but totally annoying after a while.

There a number of "dock" options in Ubuntu DL but that one in particular is Avant Window Navigator(AWN)

Just transforming your bottom panel to make it "dock-like" is one of the best
ways i think.Does the job,is`nt greedy and wont eventually annoy the life out of you :)

i finally caved in and install vista on another drive (need it for one of my apps, and i no longer have my xp disc)

Modified it to my liking though, which im quite pleased with.

Well i couldnt get CS3 working under wine, so had no choice :(

Still got ubuntu set as my main OS though! just doing alot of PS work right now (and html) so was very important.

I can just about manage to put up with vista, for a few hours.

Have you tried Gimpshop? It's a version of The Gimp hacked to be more PS-like. Not tried it myself, but it might be worth a try. There's also a plugin for it that lets you use PS plugins with it.

When i was a wee bit younger,back on the Bonnie Banks,we used to have 20Ft snowdrifts up against the house in the morning......now your lucky if we get some 5 Ft high **** stain from the passing drunks:erm:

I would`nt quite call the XP desktop "boring" btw...i mean ,i could spend a couple of hours just figuring out what all those icons are if nothing else;)

the dock at the bottom of the xp screenshot is a program called object dock and the icon where from a website called http://www.wincustomize.com/ everything you need is there for skining xp :)


regarding fedora 8 yeah theres alot of improvements with it , very fast and very stable :) ive been using the distro since it effectivly was redhat 4.0 :) so am used to how it all works hehehe fedora 9 comes out next year and will have kde 4.0 cant wait :)
