Dishwasher's thrown a wobbly: Keeps pulsing on and off and getting more full of water. I unwisely opened the door to check and it came gushing out.:( At least it's in the same water resistant utility room as the leaky washing machine.

Last time it did this several years ago it was a sensor pipe in the base had got clogged with grease. Hopefully it's the same again as it was an easy fix.

It's got far enough through the cycle that the plates are clean, just wet.

Job for tomorrow: Deep clean the beastie.

Have a check of the water and oil levels. The handbook will tell you where and how if you don't know (Or get a man to do it:D). Might just be something simple.

Hubby has done all that, what really gets me is the car was in the garage on Thursday getting a front exhaust pipe fitted. It just seems to be one thing after another lately heero.

Hubby's mate is here at the moment with a wee box thing to see what the problem is.

He'll be asking the computer on the car what the problem is. Hope it's something simple. Maybe a sensor in the exhaust has not been properly plugged in. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, that happened to my Nan. Had part of her exhaust fixed and the oxygen sensor wasn't working. New sensor installed, problem fixed.

---------- Post added at 12:58 ---------- Previous post was at 12:57 ----------

My moan is that I was up A&E last night, most horrendous pain in my right foot. Doctor couldn't decide if a hairline stress fracture or plantar fasciitis flaring up. On the plus side, as I can feel the pain throbbing through my foot I know I have no problem with the blood flow to my right foot.

It's for me alright, I did that. The mistake was not giving me a follow-up appointment after my spell in hospital over Easter. So the pre-assessment is now cancelled and a consultation arranged for a few weeks time. Then we'll see about any operation...

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

Just come back from holiday in middle of France. 30+ degrees every day. We were on an island in the Vienne river at Chinon. Wife got bitten several times by mosquitos one night when we walked down the island (all her bites swelled up, I just had one tiny bite), that didn't make here very happy, but at least all the swallows and swifts etc kept them out of the house.
then we read the comments in the visitors (big mistake) as the last visitor had his car vandalized with big foot prints all over it (apparently he claimed it would be a write off). On the last the rear view mirror on the car got broken. Now I'm not sure whether I left it sticking out so it was hit by a car of some unemployed lout got at it.

Then my slippers were left behind for the perfectly valid reason (for a woman) that when my wife did her check the slipper were on my feet therefore it must be my fault

Lastly we made a determined effort to get rid of the 1 and 2 cent coins so of course brought more than we started with. Still we can palm them off on the eldest granddaughter when she goes to Spain later :D

Sounds like my place..

One of our printers had a known fault that was easy to work around, but not covered by the warranty and would have cost at least £500 to repair. Essentially, a small switch in one of the paper cartridges jammed and occasionally had to be reset. A job that took 5 minutes with a small screwdriver. It was a documented problem, so all the techs could find the solution (assuming they didn't know it).

When the switch jammed, the printer registered a paper jam and was essentially out of action until the problem was solved.

This switch jammed while I was on holiday. The first I heard was when I got back and almost the first thing my assistant said to me is "Sorry, but I've handed in my notice". Then I got a phone call from my boss's boss asking me to come see him now. I did, and got essentially ripped a proverbial new one because our only A3 colour printer had been out of action a week, and had caused a delay to a coursework deadline.

So, I calmly pointed out to my boss that this was a known problem with the printer, and at least one technician knew the solution (a colleague, who seemingly stayed silent during this whole debacle, was the one who discovered the problem and the solution and told me). Even had they not known it, I had documented it if anyone bothered to look it up. I also pointed out that most of the team had my mobile number. If they had bothered to contact me, I would have talked them through the solution even though I was on holiday.

And yes, coursework deadlines are considered important enough by the uni that if we (as techs) do anything to delay them, we can get a written warning.

Yes he's fine now Den thanks (touch wood as always!). Thankfully he recovered sufficiently quickly for us to get him home and off to bed before he conked out. This morning at 7.00 am he was as bright as a button and back to his usual self - a combination of PITA and a really lovely lad... :) Our main worry is that he's having more fits despite some fairly hefty increases in his meds. :erm:

Hope your lad is recovering OK. I know how frightening it can be as my mother has occasional passing out fits due to lowering blood pressure, first time it happened I thought she was having a stroke and got the ambulance out down to A&E.

Osem I do hope your son is feeling better today. I cannot imagine just how frightening it was for you and your family and it's only natural to fear the worst. Hugs and best wishes to you all and give Osem Jnr #2 my best wishes and of course a big hug from me.

Cheers guys. Yes he's back to normal (or I should say his version of normal) now. :)

He's had a good active day today, having been to an outdoor pursuits centre today with his class and done all sorts of climbing, swinging and zip wire gliding. We've only just brought him home from school but he's still full of beans and we're both knackered...

Happy days however. :)

I hope it all goes ok.

My next round of tests start next week. Which are heart ultrasound and stress tests then MRI on my heart.

Still at least it's only foot clinic this week :)

Do a swop with you peanut, next week I have an endoscopy.
The one where you have nasty liquid down your throat, no food just clear liquids.
Oh did I say, not move away from toilet whilst nature takes it course.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

Thanks :tu:

Last Thursday I seen the nephro, kidneys are stable after 6 weeks of peeing blood. So he's put me down for iron infusions and Vit D. Blood pressure is high so doubling up on those meds as well. I don't have a clue to what's happening now. Just taking every day as it comes.

Today was Gastro, results from the nuclear med / MRI shows a very long stricture that can't be sorted by any meds, I was hoping for infliximab but that's now been ruled out. They need to check the colon to see if that's been affected as I have active Crohn's as well as a lot of scarring. Also need to check for anything else like bowel cancer as I would not notice any symptoms to what I have now, it's something I can't put off. Saying that I have actually lost count now of how many colonoscopies I had.

It seems like I'm heading towards surgery now as it's the getting the point of the all or nothing scenario. But in all honesty, depression is getting me badly and feel it's a losing battle.

I had a few of those too, they are best when they do the colonoscopy as you get the full whack of sedatives. The liquid is just a spray. Let me know if you want to know more. :)

Hope it goes well.

I'd take a colonoscopy over an MRI any day. With PKD they have to check for berry aneurysms, so usually the MRI takes 40mins to an hour with your head locked in a cage. 1 had to be stopped as couldn't take anymore of it, the 2nd time was totally dosed up. I fear that machine like I do spiders and I can't stay in the same room as a spider.

My problems stem from the fact I was in the chemical industry for 30+years, we used to use such as cyanide and alpha napthalamine. (One kills you the other found to cause C)
Lucky me still dodging coffins.

@ raging bull, peanut and diili.

Wish I could make everything go away for you guys, I certainly don't envy you any of the procedures you have had lately and still have lined up. Speaking from experience I know they are all necessary but that doesn't make them any easier to deal with.

Stay strong guys, you are all an inspiration to me.

I can only echo this.

You guys have way more strength than I ever would given those circumstances. I think I'd run and hide under my bed given half of what you lot have been through.

They said it was going to be nice and sunny in Eastleigh yesterday but alas several heavy showers came along.
