I sympathise - when I had my Breitling serviced last year, it was over £300 (and they don't even give you a "loaner" whilst your's is away being serviced.... ;) )

It's an early 1960's Omega which belonged to my dad. I was surprised to find the watch repair shop in the local Morrison's is an approved Omega repair centre!

The watch hospital in Wakefield Morrison's - there's one at the White Rose too. They replaced a couple of bits and do seem to have used genuine parts judging from the packaging the old parts returned with the watch.

250 quid blimey, mind you any Omega is pretty serious money.

I bought a Vostok Amfibia (the legendary Russian diver watch) for 50 quid and it's an amazing bit of kit for the money. It'll probably cost more to service than it cost new ;)

I actually thought £250 was quite reasonable. I was quoted £3-400 for mine but hopefully will be less than that.

I've always liked the 60s vintage Omegas too, very nice.

Found out a guy I work with who was signed off on Monday with a chest infection, is in hospital on a ventilator with suspected pneumonia

I've been trying to contact the DWP for several days now to have our Income Support stopped (pensions and therefore relative poverty start soon).

Out of frustration I visited the local office this morning, but was told I needed to make an appointment "sometime next week". And I have to phone to make the appointment!!

Neighbour modified their plans, applied for an extension and it was all done quietly, didn't find out until day after public consultation had finished. Got approved last week, found out today and I am fuming. Same objections apply as the previous application.
