I've been following the VM HD developments across these forums for many months and Big Reds 'predictions' (amongst a couple of others only) have all been pretty nailed on.

Iro Sky 1 HD on VM, I dont believe a particular 'go-live' date by forum contributors has ever been mooted? 'Coming soon' from somone who I consider has proved to a reliable source of info is good enough for me.

I think the VM HD service is FINALLY gaining the momentum we've all been (too) patiently waiting for.

Ok here the date it is top secert ;) it when it is annouced ;) i say to expect more annoucements near end of june ;)

Yeah, Sky News HD would be as pointless as QVC HD or Gems TV HD

I am plzed that more HD Channels are on the way. But, lets hope that the programming is pretty decent, after all who the heck wants to watch boring rubbish in HD?

I don't see an issue with Sky News HD, okay so far of war zones will still have youtube quality, but most national news, entertainment and sport news will be in nice high quality. Also finally all the onscreen text will be in nice crisp HD.

I was watching District 9 the other day on Blu ray and that the news graphics they used were fantastic qulaity and thought wouldn't that look good on a actual news channel.

And when they show movie trailers we could actually get them in HD.

MrGiles2 / Hiroki, everyone knows that even 'boring rubbish' is better in HD! ;)

I've taken to watching EuroNews on 620 recently as the 'local' news channels have become very parochial, repeatedly covering MPs expenses, education issues and now the election campaigns, leaving little time for anything else.

There have been some very serious events in the UK and worldwide which, on the UK channels, were either not covered at all, made it to the news very late or only made it into one or two bulletins before dropping off the list. Some items were shown on the 'ticker' on BBC News but were never read out.

The initial eruption of the volcano in Iceland and several other serious issues in Europe and elsewhere in the world, failed to make the BBC News for a day or two and, in some cases, not at all. I haven't been checking Sky of late, mostly because I don't like the format anymore.

Admittedly EuroNews has a quirky format but good content with additional little informative pieces. It makes me feel like I'm on holiday! :tu:

Can anyone from the Hackney or Haringey area tell me if BBC Radio London is still broadcasting on Channel 930 or has Virgin move it to channel 937?
