Sky soon to close Sky 3D Channel?

Future of 3D television called into question as Sky chooses not to schedule any Premier League matches in 3D this season.

A spokesman for Sky said: "Sky 3D viewers tell us they love the channel. We’re being more selective with what we chose to broadcast on Sky 3D, with a focus on movies and entertainment such as the Oscar-winning Gravity 3D and David Attenborough’s latest 3D documentary series coming up at Christmas."
Close not yet it would seem , I'd expect over time it may very well move its 3D content onto Sky On Demand then look to close the channel.

The problem for many is the glasses , we have two 3D TV's and I must admit we rarely use 3D these days but I guess for us that's more to do with the lack of content.

How big will 4K be ? I'm not convinced purely for the fact I can't see many UK homes buying sets big enough to appreciate the extra picture detail.

Yes its also the .13p software rather than .6p that was initially rolled out to the general public , basically has a few fixes.

I've binned the movies, I was expecting to be transferred to retentions and offered a deal, but they don't even bother anymore. You can just cancel on the website.

They can't compete with Netflix or nefarious streaming sites, so looks like they've thrown in the towel

Your shocked they've cancelled your movies despite you ringing and asking for them to do it ?

How inconsiderate of them.:)

Not shocked, surprised. I wasn't complaining.

I was very pleased.

People have been asking for online downgrading for ages , the facility is already available and has been for sometime on Now TV.

Most offers for Sky Movies are added to your My Sky or mailed out to the customer.

Now TV movie pass at £9.99 is cheaper than Sky Movies on the satellite platform or it can be had even cheaper if bought as a bundle with the Now TV box.

Yeah I`m going to bin Sky Movies too and see where else I can save a bit of money too. The films on Sky Movies are dreadful, only watched one since the mrs kindly signed me up to it a couple of months ago. I didn`t know you could cancel on line now either.
