Netflix have already blocked Unblock-us, went to watch US region last night on the xBox One and got a message saying you need to disable your unblocker and/or proxy. Damn, the US region has so much better stuff. Now to find a decent alternative to Unblock so I can carry on watching US Netflix.

It's just a case of bearing with the smart dns providers, they will hopefully find a way around it, i have got rid of netflix and if what i've seen across the web is anything to go by quite a lot of people are dropping netflix now too.

You will find this is ongoing so you may subscribe to someone else only to find that ends up the same.

The culture secretary has vowed to end the iPlayer "loophole" soon, so those watching catch-up TV do not get "a free ride".

John Whittingdale said the licence fee would be extended so it no longer just applied to live television viewers.

Little news snippet from CNBC:

"AT&T to go over the top on themselves"

AT&T, the US telecoms giant and owner of the satellite pay tv company Direct TV, is to offer a streaming version of Direct TV over its cable. There will be 3 different tiers to choose from and will be comparable to the full satellite service offered by Direct TV.

The thinkig being that the big media companies must now offer streaming services to prevent any more new entrants entering the market like Apple or Google.

CNBC also reported that their parent company, US cableco Comcast, are also looking at launching a streaming service too.

Funnily enough, I've been wondering whether Sky will be doing just that in the not so distant future.

They're already doing that with their own channels (plus a few others); it's called Now TV
