"Erm... our network?"

"No stop doing anything just keep prices the same"

Even if Virgin Media kept the headline speeds the same, data usage is increasing significantly year on year, so there would still be the need to invest in network capacity.

Thing is atm VM are currently the fastest widespread provider but firms are now rolling out 1gbs and i think VM will be left behind.
Not for quite awhile yet though.

DOCSIS 3.1 can go much faster than current VM speeds and there are other developments such as DOCSIS 3.1 Full Duplex. The future path adopted by VM remains to be seen but there's no reason why they should be left behind.

Quite a while a quite a few more price increases ahead to keep up. ;)

I have 200mb in theory - in practice 12 to 15mb as my PC is wifi connected to the hub.

So all talk of high speeds is b*||*#^t in my opinion

There's not much point taking the highest speed if all of the customer equipment on the network is connected by wi-fi at low speed. Most of my equipment connects on 5GHz channels at relatively high speed. Generally at speeds above the broadband rate. Having said that, I don't use the superhub for wi-fi.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin Media TV (2017)

VM provides a good, fast broadband service in my experience, but the upload speeds suck. I'm on VIVID 200 which means 12Mbps upload, so my cloud backups take days. I'd be most interested if I could get Hyperoptic's fibre 100Mbps (it's the same speed both down and up).

Can we get back to the topic please, this thread is a coming soon to VM TV thread, and not for BB speed discussion.
