I have no idea when it comes to things like this, as i've always bought brand new from online places... They only actually need MOBO CPU GFX and RAM if its a DDR2 mobo... lol. ---------- Post added at 00:06 ---------- Previous post was at 00:03 ---------- Also, which motherboard...? |

Re: [Merged] 4.1 Ghz Dual Core Pentium 805 Monster
C2D built and installed not overclocked or benched yet :) Tips Keith for overclocking this chip and board please (Asus P5DH Deluxe what you have aint it?) ;)

Re: [Merged] 4.1 Ghz Dual Core Pentium 805 Monster
The obvious... Keep it cool, crank up the FSB, and keep the ram nice and loose til you hit the top of the FSB... Then tighten the timings down ;)

Yeah but Keith has done it with this board lol anyway this is it at just 2.88 gig. I wanna know what voltages Keith has used to get his clock so I can make a desision on how far to push it.Thing is with these boards you dont have to worry about the ram as you dont overclock it (well I dont anyway) just set it low and catch up with itself so its always within tolerance

Re: [Merged] 4.1 Ghz Dual Core Pentium 805 Monster
The Halfords website is pee water.
I would suggest that you go in to get it, however any auto shop worth its salt will have it, just ask for a conductive pen for fixing rear heated windows. Dont you boys ever goto bed :D |

Re: [Merged] 4.1 Ghz Dual Core Pentium 805 Monster
Ok, update time, i got the conductive ink form Halfords, it's called "Electro Connector - Electrical Circuit Paint Repair" and is made by the company "Granville".
£8 a bottle. Only now, i've lost the bottle to mod my motherboard for vDroop... What if i break something? Any advice for using this paint? Other than use a cocktail stick to apply it? |
Re: [Merged] 4.1 Ghz Dual Core Pentium 805 Monster
Did you say G-G-G-G-Granville?

Now, any serious responses? |
Re: [Merged] 4.1 Ghz Dual Core Pentium 805 Monster
sorry, mate... couldn't resist it :D |
Re: [Merged] 4.1 Ghz Dual Core Pentium 805 Monster
Done the mod... There's no vDroop now though, but it seems rather unstable at some settings, it won't boot over 3.2ghz, but in windows i can set upto 3.6ghz fine using easytune and using Orthos Prime (2 core) to prime...
I'm just gonna let the paint set properly and look for any improvement. And at the end of the day, i can always Acetone it to hell and go back to the wavering 3.8ghz ;) |
