Aren't these "SoC"s?

From what I gather, there are only few docsis 3.1 modems (prototypes) with Comcast employees for testing purposes.

I saw the photos with the white VM logo on it but I am skeptical.

I guess VM changed its mind and they will wait for a few months for the new boxes to become available. Probably the trial will take place when they are ready.

The superhub 2ac probably will be able to handle the 300Mbts in the mean time. That's my guess.

The Superhub 2 is not getting the 300Mb released onto it.

Interesting, though the network is already 800Mb in places, just needs the right CPE to tune all the channels.

Then it better have modem mode, or I will have to downgrade from 152Mb/s to 200Mb/s (!) just to keep my current setup (not double NAT'ing).

I know this may all be in the plan and I worrying unnecessarily, but whenever people mention using a Liberty piece of kit I get nervous!

I just re-read that article.

Some of the features that are rumored to be included with the Superhub v3 are as follows:

4 x 1000Mbps LAN (it is possible one of them will be WAN)
2 x Telephone Ports
Coaxial Connector
On/Off Switch
DOCSIS 3.1 Support
So a cable home gateway is rumoured to have a coaxial connector?

An on/off switch too? Liberty are spoiling the UK.

It's really not possible one of the Ethernet ports will be WAN. It will have the phone ports. DOCSIS 3.1 is about the only thing that's 'rumoured'.

I think this is just poor "journalism" from Neowin. This is sad, as I used to write for them.

I can only presume that by "WAN" they are referring to the WAN out (or whatever the proper term is) of Modem mode. Who knows, though.

I don't see how/why one of them should be WAN seeing as it has coax going to the WAN. For modem mode, one switch port has to be active - that's all.

That's what I mean, I think it's a misunderstanding and misuse of terms on their part. Given the rest of the article, that's hardly a surprise.
