Just so I'm not completely destroying this thread.
I tried some moon photography (not of the blood moon) - but with pretty crappy results.

Try lowering the ISO with much longer exposure. With a tripod if poss.

I will try that. I hand held but rested my arm on my car roof.

If you can wedge the camera onto the shot you want, set a 3sec timer so you don't move the camera when you press the shutter button. Do this with a tripod as well. Or get one of those cheapo shutter remotes which works great.

Well, I may be adding a few here since I travelled extensively after leaving the UK.

I'll start with his one from Iceland, Gullfoss Falls.

I couldn't quite stand where you were, but I wanted one of the rainbow. November 2015 and it was bitterly cold. Cold like I had never felt before, hard to describe but it was like the cold equivalent to the heat in Death Valley .

We were there in August 2018. Wonderful weather, high teens to mid 20s!

Fascinating Photos Cobby.

A tad random, and certainly not linked to the conditions shown in the photo, but the first one brought to mind your daughter and the photo of her in her wedding gown which has always stayed in my memory.

Kirkjufell, Iceland. You may recognise it from Game of Thrones.
