I suppose somebody could have raised their concerns with senior management and they could have looked into it and/or be more alert to potential situations. They could have restricted access to the younger fans, made sure there was always somebody else around, made frequent checks on his dressing room. That wouldn't have stopped things happening elsewhere, but would have been a start.

It is now at a point where only one truth exists there is nothing else he was this evil predatory paedophile and thats it it cannot be undone now and if the met investigation comes out the same as THREE previous investigations those convinced of his guilt will shout cover up. I am completely supportive of any victim of abuse until a few years ago i worked with a very good VSG dealing with it on a daily basis and there are many aspects of this that are just not sitting right with me at the minute. But as i said it''s all irrelevent now his name is mud his work is now being represented as a means to get closer to kids and there is nothing thqat can remove this stain.

This whole episode for me has shown how low this country has sunk in it's attitudes towards justice and fairness and has me very worried for the future about how accused people will be treated. We need to remember that for every genuine abuse victim there is one that claims it and it never happened to them same as rape so many false allegations that do great damage to innocent people that cannot be taKen back once the real truth is out.

As for all the celebs who "knew" sorry but if i even think someone is abusing a child in anyway even now i have words with that person and if i think there is something to it my next stop is a phone and 999 i cannot comprehend the lowlife that truly believes children are being abused and does nothing but gossip in the office.

Also the power jimmy saville had and none of us knew how powerful he was media that was scared to break a career making story, celebs with careerrs to build that said nothing and i have seen it said even the THREE police forces that launched investigations were pressured by jimmy saaville. I mean please he was a tv presenter no matter how popular and powerrful he might have been within the bbc to ask me to believe that power extended out to all media and the police sorry asking a bit too much from me. As fo the police having dealt with them in variouus capacities over the years i can categorically state that anytime they launched an investigaation into child abuse very commited officers who didn't stop till the truth was found were involved i cannot believe that three forces didn't have one officer that would go the distance.

Although the Beeb is asking people to come forward with information I can't help thinking there will be a prevailing attitude of "It happened long ago, he's dead, nothing can be done about it now" amongst them which will keep people quiet.

It's not a bad attitude m8 at all sadly it is now the sensible aattitude to have because we have far too many people looking for something to have a go at people for. My graandfather always used to say that the generations that came after were always smarrter then the ones before but i don't think that is true now we have a culture of instant gratification and it seems there are a growing number of people that would like that instant element applying to everything it's one of the reasons why i worry about the future.

No. All these people are coming out under the cover of the ITV Documentary with the alleged victims. Louis Theroux made it clear as one of the few to go near the allegations whilst he was alive, that he heard the rumours and brought them up to Savile in a documentary. He wasn't convinced by Savile's response but had pushed it as far as he could without evidence.

You need evidence, concrete evidence, if you're going to label a famous television personality as paedophille.

So we shouldn't follow it up because the accused is dead and the victims might be lying? It seems unlikely that all these alleged victims are making it up but leaving that aside I don't see how it's unacceptable to suggest he may have been a child abuse but it's perfectly fine to infer that these women are making it up.

How would they conversation go? What would they say to the police? I have heard a rumor that Jimmy Savile is a child abuser? Only one of these celebs has come forward with anything that would count as evidence and that is Coleen Nolan and even then it's hardly substantial. Every one of these people have circumstantial evidence at best.

Now I don't know if he is guilty or not but there is more than enough testimonies from alleged victims to investigate it.

Martyh, People that are abused are 'frightened, ashamed and terrified' at what will happen to them if they came out and said what happened by a big major star.

Just watched a former pop star on the news saying that he felt that 'there was something fishy' when he spoke with Saville and there were young girls about.

What you have to realise is the fact - if he was an abuser, he should be stripped of his title, and if they others involved and l know from the news that Gary Glitter was involved then they should all be arrested and feel the full might of the law.
