The Sun on Sunday' sales 'down 500,000+

Quote:

The Sun on Sunday reportedly endured a more than 500,000 drop in sales for its second edition yesterday, although the fall is only slightly above Rupert Murdoch's estimates.

News International's new Sunday edition of The Sun sold around 3.22 million copies when it launched on February 26 as the replacement for the News of the World, which was shut down last year at the height of the phone hacking scandal.

According to early unofficial industry estimates reported by The Guardian, the second edition of the tabloid paper is thought to have sold just over 2.6m yesterday.
Such a shame :D

let's hope it slips further :D

It was always going to fall. Isn't 2.6m around what the NOTW used to average?

You can fantasise about it all you want, But it does not mean it is going to happen.

Yes and the NOTW shut down (even though it was a high selling paper)

But it wasn't a drop in sales that shut it down

Yes that is why it shut down, but that scandal also affected The Sun as well

NO Alan, it was actually the hacking mess that got tyhe NOTW shut down. Sales had nothing to do with it.
