I wonder how much the last months F1 reports have riled JB, firstly quite a few people come out and say that LH is the main one to look out for in the Mclaren team and now everyone is saying that they're looking forward to racing against MS.

So much for the current world champion :D

I don't think that Jensen Button has the "legs" to win another championship, to be honest. I think Lewis Hamilton is still the one to watch. As far as Michael Schumacher is concerned; he has his day.

Bernie officially lost it a while ago pushing the medals system, but this one confirms he's not above shouting radical ideas through the media.

Oh I just love RB's PR stunts :)

I wonder if they can get Bernie to dress up and have a flight for every stupid rule change he tries to bring in

I'll agree with this. I don't think JB is a "true" champion in my opinion. I still think, we need to watch Hamilton, he is going to be very hungry indeed and no doubt will walk over I am afraid of JB and with Alonso, in Ferrari I think hes to watch aswell..

JB is one of the smoothest drivers out there. I think he shows how important the car is in current F1 and without a winning car there isn't much you can do.

I'm not so sure that LH will blow JB away. They will be driving the same car, and with no refeuling. I think the no refeuling will have a major impact on the two drivers. It will mean they have to preserve their tyres. It's well known that JB is a smooth driver and excellent at preserving tyres, whereas LH is an aggressive drivers and goes through tyres a lot faster.

What a load of tripe.

So when Hamilton had the best car on the grid when he won the championship he wasn't a true champion either?????

Where was Hamilton when his car was crap at the beginningof this season? nowhere.

F1 has always been 80% about the car and 20% about the driver. Nearly all F1 drivers have the ability to win the championship if they are in the right car.

Damon Hill wins championship in Williams one year, next year comes nowhere in a Arrows.
Was he a real champion??

Jacques Villneuve wins championship in Williams one year, next year comes nowhere in a BAR.
Was he a real champion??

Eddie Irvine was a regular on the podium in a Ferrari, in a Jaguar he came nowwhere.

David coulthard was a regular on the podium in a McLaren, in a Red Bull nowhere.

Reubens was a podium regular in a Ferrari, in a Honda he was always at the back of the grid with Jenson.

None of these drivers suddenly became crap overnight.

Therefore, since being in F1 Jenson has been in a succession of mediocre or poor cars and therefore has been in mediocre or poor postions on the grid. As soon as he had some decent equipment he puuled out the perfomances he was capable of.

He led the championship from start to finish, his drive in Brazil was a champions drive. I would argue his championship was a better one than Hamiltons.

Yes, I hope we see some close racing this year and I hope McLaren give both drivers equal support and it may trun out that Hamilton is better than Button.

But to say Button was not a "true" champion is just nonsense.

There`s no denying the fact Button was a true champion, i think the fact that he had such a massive lead from very early on in the calender meant that it was his to lose and this brings extra pressure, media attention.
Lets not forget that Hamilton was only a couple of corners from missing out on the championship and if Senior Pique (naa, Berlusconi :p:) hadn`t pulled that stunt Massa could have won it.
To become a Formula 1 driver in the first place means you must have a quality of driving that is good, (unless you bring in huge sponsorship) what sets the very best from the rest is the ability to set a car up for the different circuits and have the desire to win at all costs.

Some drivers can get more out of a poor car than others, so as expected they also get more out of a good car.

Tip for the Title, mmmmm, that`s a toughie

I`m gonna go with Vettel. (We can`t have a brit 3 years running, it wouldn`t be good for the sport :p: )...says Bernie

The thing is though that a good driver with that lead shouldn't have lost so much later on in the season, it's wasn't the car as Rubens simply disproved that fact.

As they went throught he season the very thing that made the Brawn unbeatable in the early rounds in the very hot countrys ( i.e it was very easy on the tyres.).

Was the very same issue that hindered it when it came to the European rounds as then it could generate enough heat in the tyres.

At certain circuits this suited Ruben more that it did Button that's all.

Rubens didn't exactly set the world on fire in the second half of the season either, yes he won two races but only got one other podium.

Re: Formula 1 2010 Season [may contain real time spoilers]

So are you saying that he's only any good on certain tracks and only when it's hot?? ;)

A good driver is good on all the tracks, not just the ones he fancies :p:

Personally I think that he'll start making excuses for his performance this year :D

Re: Formula 1 2010 Season [may contain real time spoilers]

Very true Kymmy, me thinks maybe Jenson couldn`t handle the pressure, he certainly wasn`t qualifying as good as early season and that made him start from a not to good grid position.
As you say Rubens was in the same car but looked different class at times.

Maybe it was orchestrated to make the championship interesting for a bit longer:D
