We had the quality just a few games back. We were pinging the ball back and forth. Something has been lost in the last few games. I think it's a lack of pace on the flanks with Walcott and Chamberlain both being out, today we were certainly harmed but the uncertainty in midfield and the exploitation of our weakness on the right. Gervinho had a poor game but he had a good one last time.

The team is at fault. I just don't think it merits the overkill complaining at the moment. We've lost a game. Let's suck it up and worry about QPR. Sagna and Wilshere will return soon, hopefully Walcott/Chamberlain too.

fair enough but the squad depth should be able to handle it. i know it takes time to gel even more so after being laid off still everyone should be wanting to play. formation and setup of players sucked.

not a pretty AGM. Peter Hill-Wood your days as chairman are over. I'm all for a leader, figure head not taking crap but Hill-Wood takes the biscuit, tea and biscuits HA! anyway Wengers controlling spend, not surprised, 60% home grown. all this surrounding talent with upcomers. shame the upcomers suck or are not peaking as they should be. Ivan and Stan are starting to annoy the hell out of me. same ol'd, Ivan for all his knowledge winds me up just by speaking. Stan couldn't speak even if he tried. Dodging questions, lying  I hate it when people start comparing other clubs to us, we're Arsenal not other clubs!!! I agree with Wenger when he says third is more important because well it is as a last resort but come on we could be doing better. the board needs changing. more pressure needs to be put on Wenger to perform better.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

We did learn that, despite rumours, Wenger isn't in charge of the finances and it does seem Stan is looking to take money out of the club. :(

Don't know how true this is, heard on the bus today so cannot find anything to back it up as fact but apparently an Arsenal fan tore his season ticket up and threw it on the pitch at full time.

I agree it is getting more and more unlikely Wenger will see 20 seasons as manager, which is a shame. But fans want silverware, and I'm sorry I would even count winning the Capital One Cup as a major success this season. It says something when you have to settle for a tin pot Cup as the best chance of getting a trophy win.

As for Kroenke taking money out of Arsenal, why would he need to take it out when his American sports teams are doing very well? Indeed, the American teams would probably have more money for Kroenke to siphon from. He's also worth few billion dollars so unless he has had a poor few months he would need to be getting desperate to siphon cash reserves from Arsenal.

LOL! Drama queen. They are cards however, like an Oyster card, so not that easy to tear up without scissors.

The AGM was warm to Wenger. He retains the vast majority of support amongst fans at the stadium. Even last night I pretty much only heard people having a go at the board and an acceptance of Arsenal's new status as a team that is behind Manchester City.

He is a businessman and this is a business. He refused to rule it out today which they've always done in the past, he wasn't too keen on meeting fans either. I think we know where we stand on him now. Wenger did offer to meet fans at the end of the season if we do badly and got applauded.

its not even all about cups. its the fact the decline has settled in like a virus. in 08 we played a proper Barca style of footy but failed to net the chances created. instead of buying extra quality Wenger put too much faith in players to do it. these same players wanted 1-2 added into the mix but no. Wengers continued to this.

Stan isn't as rich as people seem to think. His monies at hand has dropped a lot. Stan is making money at Arsenal thats fact. He'll continue to do so and then make a huge profit when he sells his shares.

Being a Spurs fan, what AVB should do tomorrow morning, is go into Daniel Levy's office and resign if the team can perform like that in Europe and compared them self with the likes of Liverpool and Man Utd.

It was like watching a Sunday league game, first half was really poor and below par, the second half was slightly better. The the Maribor goal was a disgrace, the defence and keeper - and he wants regular football, l would rather have Gomez back in goal that Loris.

Spurs gave the ball away to much, and why on earth leave Abeyor out baffles me, he was not even on the bench.

I have a feeling that AVB will not last past Xmas at this rate.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

I did say I had heard the season ticket thing on a bus so I assumed it was false but still a good laugh. He would have regretted it had it been true and the last home game would seal the title for Arsenal.

I didn't realise Kroenke was running short of money. Sounds worrying, I agree.

thenry 26-10-2012 00:22

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

he still has billions just not as many. anyway his money wont be pumped in. Arsenal will attempt to charge us fans a million pound each for a season ticket before asking a sugar daddy for cash. if Stan ever gets forced to sell then i suspect itll be anyone but Usmanov. that said Usmanov would happily pay an excess to get his hands on Arsenal.

Arsenal set to sign £25 million shirt deal with adidas

The Nike shirt deal expires in 2013-4 and Adidas’s interest is set at least to double the £13 million a year Arsenal earn from it. Arsenal fans buy 800,000 shirts every year, making them the third-biggest draw in Nike’s portfolio after Manchester United and Barcelona.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...th-adidas.html
Seems a little low to be honest. The Prems growing dramatically and having just seen rights sell for a massive amount I do think Arsenal can get more. I wonder too if this is just a shirt deal and a different training kit sponsor will be coming in as well.

A record, longest premier league match.

2nd half was better, they started playing with some pace, tortoise and hare show :)

Defence needs sorted though. Can't keep ignoring it

The only question is how Colin would you sort out a defence that has more leaks then a 30 year old garden hosepipe.

Ah I also forgot to add, for whatever fee we bend the Liverpool manager over a desk for this time, there is however a clause in the contract stating Newcastle United are not liable to pay compensation if the player has to suddenly retire due to injury (The knee)

A red, but accidental, was taking risk moving across him

strictly speaking, they can, but are unlikely. 11 minutes left :)

But, given ref, perhaps it was always, cannot :D

Beating Chelsea away and seeing the ladyboy get sent off for diving...beautiful.

Yes, some of the Man Utd players were losing temper (like rooney). Didn't know they were rent boys :D

I'm sad, because I can take no satisfaction from Chelsea losing today. Would rather United had won with that offside goal 11 v 11.

I agree the ref was poor...Torres should have gone in the first half and what was he thinking for Toni V's yellow???

Not what we wanted but if true then he is in very deep water.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

Torres dived and was deservedly sent off. It's about time this happened and bloody took long enough. Regardless if there was a nick on a hair on his leg or something else it does NOT entitle you to go down like a sack of crap. If that's the case then there's a penalty for every corner taken in the Premier League and 50 red card's a week.

If you can stay on your feet after contact but choose to go down, it's a tactical dive. It's wrong and should be punished. This happens every week and I'd love to see more yellow's and red's to eradicate this crap.

Newcastle beat Spurs and Liverpool to Moussa Sissoko with the player set to move in August for free after committing to sign a pre-contract in January.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

Once again we have sour grapes from Chelsea, firstly Torres did dive, and it was a second Yellow - instant Red.

Now they are accusing Clattenburg (not the best ref around) of using inappropriate words - all this will be on tape. Total sour grapes as far as l am concerned.

Everyone is assuning its the race card again.

adzii_nufc 29-10-2012 15:17

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

I doubt anything will come of it. This racial crap is way out of hand now.

I won't make judgement on whether there was or was not racial abuse or not but if there was it's obvious he'll be gone and I only think it's fair that if there was no abuse at all, Chelsea should receive a fine and the players launching false allegations given match bans because this is a serious allegation that has the potential to ruin this guy's career.

Referee microphone audio isn't recorded but is live for both linesmen and the fourth official to hear for the 90 minutes so there's three key witnesses.

Arthurgray50@blu 29-10-2012 16:23

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

I cannot imagine that a top quality referee with a microphone would come out with anything so stupid.

I think its pure sour grapes from Chelsea as they lost players and lost the game.

Torres, has only himself to blame for this as he is a well known diver and he gets caught, but it was his SECOND booking - so he walks.
