Yes SKY has the Movie's and Sports cornered for the moment. We all need to wait for the reports and the appeals to be done:D

i hope not mediaboy, there is nothing on that channel. BBC2HD would be great, most of the bbc's decent shows would be upscaled or in HD, would be great!

Don't forget new customers pay 49.95 HD Activation fee or what ever they call it these days.

Well at least they have paid it off as you still pay a lot more for the HD on SKY over the same period of the contract length?

For non premium customers it is , but with VM a new customer taking XL and Sky Premium pays 49.95 + 7.00 x 12 = £133.95 , a Sky Customer pays 10.25 x 12 = £123.00 in year one , granted VM becomes cheaper in year 2 but we all know the discounts available from retentions :)

I'm comparing a VM XL Sky Premium Subscriber with a Sky+HD Sky World Subscriber. There are pluses for both Ie Sky has a far superior range of channels were VM include ESPN in XL for free , I was merely proving VM charges new customers more in year one for HD when taking Sky premium channels however VM becomes cheaper in the second year.

Yes this part is very true as you do not have to pay for repairs/activation in the second year and the years after that as well? The same as yourself you would need to pay the activation fee as you are on TV M if you do decide to come back.

Activation fee only applies to V+HD and TIVO boxes. V HD boxes now have free HD activation.

Does anyone know why V+HD (£5 per month) costs more than TIVO (£3 per month) if you have M+ or L TV, yet XL TV customers have free V+ but still pay for TIVO?

Virgin does, what Virgin does You have no chance of working it out.

Still all suppliers do it at one time or another. I recall ASDA offering coffee at

£3 per jar or two for £7 !! It happens all the time. Pick what best for you. A better offer will always appear later:confused:

Its a good idea to have their own channel, maybe some good sports will replace that garbage on sky sports. It will also mean WWE fans won't have to pay as much to watch it i reckon, especially if they include PPV in the cost.

That is for the US.

We in the UK and Ireland will still have the WWE on Sky Sports until it deal end - end of 2014.

WWE TV may launch in 2015.

No I am pretty sure he means the movie collection will be lowered in price, currently M pay £29 for the full collection and the other packs have the same price of £21.50.

It is not a price reduction in your TV sub.

I have heard it now, VM reducing prices, isn't this strange, Sky are freezing there prices for a year, l think this is a case of one company following the other.

Reducing the price and freezing are two different things though? unless i'm missing something?

Unless Scripps close Food Network we may lose Good Food and Good Food HD - Look what happen with Bravo and Virgin 1.

More of a case of Sky's prices becoming static and a competitor (VM) using that to be able to safely undercut them. Great business move if you ask me.

No update on the CBS Channels only rumours.

I do not even know if Virgin have the rights carry both YeSTERDAY +1 and Eden +1 as part of deal let alone Food Network and Food Network HD.

My (new) bill seems very simple to understand - it tells me that I paid my previous bill, it tells me what I owe for this bill, shows how the bill is made up (what is in my bundle, and the price I pay for it), and any credits I receive - what's hard to understand?

Maybe yours is easy to understand but l can assure you that my bill online has charges and debits here there and everywhere and none of it is clearly laid out to be easily understandable.

Why not post it online (with personal details removed), to show us how complex it is (as you seem to have a different bill to mine).

Virgin is more expensive than Sky on quite a few areas,

Sky Sports £22.50 with VM - £20 with Sky
Sky Movies £19.50 with VM - £16 with Sky
Sky World (Includes Sky Movies and Sky Sports + Broadband and Free evening and weekend calls) £53 per month phone line extra £12.25 with Sky with VM from £87.56 + Plus a phone line at £13.90 a month

Virgin Media need to wake up very quickly they've dug a big hole and now they are struggling to get out of it.
