Thanks. Does the red button take you directly to whatever it is or do you get a menu screen showing everything that's on red button?

with regards to the golf you press the red button and you get 3 x small live screens and you then just select the one you want to watch, this is really useful when watching multiple champions league matches etc because you can watch all the matches simultainiosly then if there is a goal etc you just select that match.... hope this answers your question.

your right muppetman,I initially thought the feeds were HD but closer look they are SD,and as you say good quality.

I'd love to know if spider plant knows this, but is it possible to provide red button HD feeds as these would be the icing on the cake for the Sky Sports red button.

I wonder if Sirius watched the Rugby League red button , I know how much he likes the Warriors.

There's no technical reason why not (on cable at least, and I can't imagine satellite would be any different).

But commercially I'd guess it's not viable. 14 HD streams wouldn't come cheap. They'd still have to carry SD versions for the majority of users who don't have HD-capable boxes.

(I wonder if Sky have redeployed their old SD production kit on the red button feeds? Would make sense)

Would it be possible to say have a mix , so maybe two red button games on match choice in HD with the remainder in SD , at least people would then be able to see the game on the channel in HD plus two more , just wondering my tech knowledge of these things is limited :D

Cheers SP:D
I have pressed Red for the Rugby and it has appeared but the Just a moment box will not go and the box is unresponsive.. I have had to reboot the box again. It used to do this when red button first appeared . Having rebooted the box the Just a moment box will not go and the box has become unresponsive again. Something is not right here.
I have rebooted again to get control , I think I will give the Rugby a miss

I have just plcaced a comment on ther Coming soon page, about VM, the football season started in my view yesterday when the pre-season games were shown on Sky on THE RED BUTTON. and l watched both games on the same screen.

Its about time VM and Niel Berkett stopped treating its customers like a bunch of idiots, they make these promises, and fail to keep them.

The Red button is going to be the down fall of VM in my opoin and will lose customers,
IF VM are only going to have periodoric RED BUTTON scenes, then you might as well forget it.

If they’re not showing on the main channel, all you need to do is press the red button on your remote control, and Bob’s your uncle, you can scroll through all the games and select your side. It’ll work for all 2011-2012 Barclays Premier League matches, plus any UEFA Champions League match, ATP tennis, US Open, Heineken Cup and more. Plus, your clever red button unlocks loads of news and stats, too. And an extra bonus, from late spring you can use it to track down smaller sports events, games or highlights, too. l think one thing sums this Sky red button up on Virgin and that it is a absolute fiasco by Virgin yet again with them stating things and not delivering on it when they said they would so its just another example of Virgin's vague and false promises.:td::td:

Hang on...we have no idea if they will deliver or not so you can't really say that Denphone...but that's the main poinbt isn't it... we don't know! And this close to the new season we should know one way or the other. If the deal.tech is in place, it will be in place by now... there' s no way it's going down to the wire, so why not let us know?!?!?!?!?

And one of Virgin's biggest weaknesses is their woeful lack of communication.

"It’ll work for all 2011-2012 Barclays Premier League matches, plus any UEFA Champions League match, ATP tennis, US Open, Heineken Cup and more"

Which bit isn't clear?

None of it, Spider it's not as we were also told on a Sky internet page that compared the two platforms that it would be "LIMITED" on Virgin so we had no idea exactly what we would get... I hope that's clear!

I might ring retentions in the morning and complain that I don't have SS red button yet as I'm on Tivo.. maybe they will give me a free V+ box!

I can't see the red button service coming to the TiVo box untill VM release the next update in October? Considering they haven't got the BBC red button working yet, there would be alot of annoyed users if they put the SS red button on before the BBC's red button service.

Hopefully they'll get the red button for the rest of their boxes out by next Saturday (13th) in time for the start of the PL season.

Let us know what they tell you, I'd love to be told other wise as to what I've typed above.

Not their fault they are employed by VM! You try explaining TV billing or problems with your red button in Hindi or Urdu and see how you get on.

They try their best but when English isn't your first language I doubt it's easy!

And thats the crux of the problem as even though they speak English it is broken English and not proper clear consise English.

Then speak to VM and ask them not to outsource their call centres to foreign countries, not call those people "clowns".

l have told them countless times but they do not listen and l have never called anybody a clown as l do not go into insults on people.
