Interesting news for sports fans: I was told today that VM have heard a rumour that, in an attempt to try and scupper things for BT, everytime that BT have a live match on, Sky will make it's football available for free. I asked if this meant that some or all of the Sky Sports channels would be temporarily unencrypted, if they would be moved or simulcast on a channel such as Sky One or if they would be put onto Pick TV to dissuade Freeview viewers from subscribing to BT Sport (not sure if they can or not) and was told that he didn't know the answer to that. Does anyone know if sports rights that are sold with pay TV rights MUST be shown on pay TV, or if Sky are able to show them FTA should they wish to do so? If not, that rules out Pick TV, but the option of putting them on a channel like Sky One would comply with any "must carry on pay TV" requirement. |

It also look like given what channel numbers Virgin have given Viacom for the channel launches on Thursday we will not get Comedy Central Extra +1, MTV +1 and Nick Jr +1 ---------- Post added at 11:45 ---------- Previous post was at 11:24 ---------- The Bond channel is back with Skyfall on July 1. Sky Movies 007 and Sky Movies 007 HD will be on Virgin Channels 410 and 440. |
On MTVs website, MTV Music is on 134, same for MTV.
