Re: Starmer’s chronicles
For those who watched PMQs today (04-Feb-26), it will have been noticed that Kemi totally nailed Starmer. Kemi was questioning Starmer's judgement in appointing Mandelson and she asked whether or not Starmer knew that Mandelson was still in contact with Epstein after his conviction.
He admitted that he knew about the relevant Mandelson contact with Epstein which is why he referred that knowledge to the vetting process. So, Starmer was utterly skewered. You could see it akin to a fox staring into the truck's headlights. I've never seen Starmer so subdued (nor his backbench MPs) and at a loss as to what he could say to put himself into a better light. Kemi did well. |

Re: Starmer’s chronicles
A vote of confidence in Starmer is being called for by the Opposition. That may bring him down, but I think he may survive that, albeit narrowly. The May election results will finish the job. Will he call a General Election in that eventuality as he promised, or do I feel another U-turn coming on.
This is the long awaited just desserts for Starmer after his holier than thou attitude towards the government of the day while Labour was in Opposition. |

And there is a lesson to be learnt here, if you make a statement, do be prepared to back it up with verifiable sources or facts. Do the research, put the work in. Don’t just repeat, verbatim, something that you have heard, as being the truth. because good chance that it actually isn’t! |

It's now understood that Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar is set to deliver a press conference at 2.30pm today, in which he will call for Sir Keir to resign as Prime Minister.

Can't help but get the feeling that this is what Labour MPs have been secretly waiting for. Get somebody elected for a short while, then overthrow the PM.

Re: Starmer’s chronicles
No, no more of the same as the conservatives passing the baton around call a general election
