Maybe so in your opinion but you can't deny the success he has had which I think is more important than personal feelings!

Yeah I was. We had our fair share IIRC and Darcheville played well, set up Rogers' equaliser, the 8-1 flattered you.

He bought it though, and his attitude reeks, you have to be honest.

No he didn't buy it. Yes he has spent a lot of money in the past 4/5 years but he had success before he had money to spend at both United and Aberdeen. He hardly had any money to spend when he was in Scotland and yet he won a lot...

With Aberdeen
Scottish Premier League Champions 1980, 1984, 1985
Scottish Cup Winners 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986
Scottish League Cup winners 1986
European Cup Winners' Cup 1983

With St Mirren
Scottish First Division Championship 1977

And no I don't think his attitude reeks, why do you think it does?

It's a damn sight easier managing Aberdeen and St Mirren than ManUre though. Fact is, it took him 4 years to even win the FA Cup, a further three to win the league, if he was half decent he would have won it quicker.

And for all his money, he only has one European Cup. And they shouldn't really have been in it that year either.

His keepers, with one notable exception, have ALL been shocking.

contempt for referees, contempt for the FA, lack of respect for his players, his demeanour, his attitude in interviews, I could go on...

Why, all the chelsea and especially arsenal players have a mutual respect for the manager at least.

And I would imagine the FA as well...

If its a damn sight easier managing Aberdeen how come no other manager in in the last 20 years has managed to break the Celtic / Rangers dominance?

Plus he got a European trophy at Aberdeen beating Real Madrid in the final so its not like his success there was all domestic.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Thats the funniest thing I've heard in ages. :D

Where were Utd when Fergie took over? Bottom of the First Division after losing 6 of their first 13 matches and only winning 3. He took them to 11th place that season. The next season, his first full season at Old Trafford he took them to a runners up spot.

He practically had to rebuild the whole squad after Atkinson - look at the team for fergies first game in charge at OT -
Turner, Duxbury, Albiston, McGrath (Olsen), Moran, Hogg, Blackmore, Stapleton, Moses, Davenport, Barnes

hey 1000 posts :D

Nffc is just digging a bigger hole for himself....he can't see past his personal feelings about SAF! :D

I personally think Wengers attitute is worse than Fergies and Mourinho will be up there soon!

Oh, about your comment he bought the success, yeah just like Arsenal have and Chelsea will have if they win the league.....swings both ways mate!

Re: [Merged] Football talk

If anything Mourinho is worst - SAF's UK track record speaks for itself, Wenger is vastly inferior yet has still been moderately successful - Mourinho has not won anything, has not built a team and only really got his break in football from being Bobby Robson's translator.

Once he's actually achieved something in the domestic game THEN he can think about justifying his arrogance.

He is going to have to achieve a hell of alot to justify his arrogance which won't happen. I can't see him staying here for a few years.
