I do also try to get to games at Rochdale or Oldham if United don't have a home game on the same day and don't think you could class supporting The Dale or The Latics as glory hunting.:D

Bet you found 1994 awkward!

None and if you think he's the answer to arses defensive woes then you're mistaken, as good a player as I think he is he won't make the Arsenal first team regularly.

Arsene has other ideas though. We know nothing.

Did the same with leyton orient myself, without actually supporting them though, just went to their matched when I couldn't go away with the hammers, with hindsight I wish I hadn't bothered...

Be interesting to see were he ends up, personally I think he's at his level already and no other club at that level is going to offer him better terms

Apparently Ched Evans has been given a 2.5 year contract with Oldham. No idea how true this is, only saw it as Katie Hopkins has been mouthing off on Twitter saying good for Oldham, and getting a load of abuse from people for it.

Ah, found an article.

Be interesting to see if Ashley pulls the Sports Direct funding from the club, or if not whether that sparks a protest from Newcastle fans.

United have signed Victor Valdes on a 1.5 year deal.

Not a bad deal for us, not least because it means he won't be going to Liverpool :)

Still cannot understand why Oldham are getting involved until or unless Ched Evans has won his appeal review but if he did do so they would not be able to afford him. Rumoured that his girlfriends father who is a millionaire and a friend of Simon Corney, the owner of Oldham Athletic is going to pay his wages and possibly even make up some of the sponsorship shortfall. Not sure he would match the Sports direct money but he could possibly cover the other two.

If he does eventually get cleared it will look like a great piece of business but at the moment it is rather stupid IMHO.

His father in law has denied that he's doing that. The reason Oldham want him is because he's better than League One and they wouldn't be able to get under normal circumstances.

I'm not making any comment about the rights or wrongs of it, mainly because I'm still not sure myself where I stand, but I am genuinely staggered that a club like Oldham can afford to lose the sponsorship it stands to lose by signing him.

Because he's a defender not a striker perhaps and because he wasn't for sale, not that it stopped the illegal approach, if the authorities are serious about stopping abuse they need to start revoking a few agents licences

He's a great keeper, experienced too but yes this raises worrying questions about De Gea's future. This has all the signs of another top United player being sold to RM. Who knows, Valdes might get a new lease of life at United but he's fairly short for a PL keeper and we won't get as many years out of him as De Gea has ahead of him. We might be splashing the cash at the moment but I can see United wanting to try to recoup some of it wherever possible, Welbeck being a good example.
