No point in being bitter, at the end of the day the best "team" won. But, you've got to think, this team will most likely fall apart as ego's get inn the way, weheras the Man U team will probably be much better.

I still don't understand which of you is the Pigs? Weds fans call Blades the Pigs, Blades fans call Weds the Pigs... personally I hate both, but Blades more because of NW and the Playoffs (C.h.e.a.t.i.n.g. Kabba) also any Notts/Yorks thing is always likely to be volatile - before our time, I believe it comes from the miners' strike. But when you get the requisite groups of fifteen year old chavvy "fans" calling each other scabs...

It's over 38 not 1 anyway. Chelsea will stay together because JM is bigger than the lot of them and will insist on it. (He reminds me so much of Brian Clough).

United in any other season will have won the league. Chelsea have been nigh-on invincible and Utd haven't been miles behind.

Yes Chelsea have spent but that's to get the immediate results. A lot of money has been invested in the Academy which means they will need to buy less as this becomes more important. And United have spent a lot on players in the past, 3.6m on Keane (a record at the time) for example as well as losing out on Shearer who decided to go Newcastle because he supported them. Recent acquisitions of Ferdinand, Rooney et al didn't come cheap either.

The only difference is that Chelsea have spent a lot, at once, rather than over time. Which really makes it harder for all the new players to gel at once, needing even better management to get results. Look at Newcastle.

Any cap would affect man u as well, although you may deny it they spend big as well. The money was their before mourinho joined so putting all the credit on money is just been sore in defeat.

yeah I would say you have, the first title you won without spending massive although you did still spend above the average, prising players away from other top division teams presumably you was able to offer keane and cantona superior wages to their previous clubs.

Then after the first title you started spending bigger and bigger and like nffc said if you the only difference between you and chelsea is your spending has been sustained over a number of years whilst chelsea brought a bunch of players in one go. Look at your current squad and you telling me it cost significantly less then chelsea's to build?

Today, if a club is interested in a player and Chelsea has also shown an interest, where do you think he'll end up? It was never that way with United. Shearer, Ronaldinho, there have been plenty of players who United wanted but lost out to to other clubs.

And I'm not against spending over greater lengths of time. Chelsea buying up all the best players over 2 years is what bought them success.

You presume wrongly I'm afraid ! Keane had the choice of Arsenal or Blackburn, maybe not the case with Arsenal, but certainly Blackburn could have offered significantly more wages than Man U. And Cantona wasn't getting regular team football with Leeds. so chose to play elsewhere.

True enough, but the thing is that Man U have raised their money through good marketing over the years and hefty season ticket sales. I personally don't begrudge Chelsea their success, they have been the best team over the last 2 seasons, by some margin. Despite the wealth of Man U, there is no way Man U can spend huge amounts of money in 1 season, the shareholders would not let that happen. It's the fact that a sugar daddy has piled in so much money in such a short space of time that annoys supporters (not just Man U fans). The same thing happened in 1995, when Jack Walker did exactly the same at Blackburn. The majority of football supporters accept that the "big clubs" will have enough financial clout to buy the better players, but it's the "sugar daddies" that cause the discontent amongst football fans. It's not that they spend big, it's that they spend big with funds not generated through the good running of the football club in question. It takes time, to make a club successful financially via good marketing. People like Roman Abramovich, and Jack Walker, make a mockery out of good financial management of the likes of Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, to name just a few. If a team is successful by buying players with cash generated through good financial running of a football club, then good luck to them imho.

Denial of something that is true, players have chosen man u over other clubs numerous times, before chelsea rose up man u was the dominant club where players wanted to be in england. You talking like you are on the same level as bolton, charlton, maybe newcastle and arsenal but you are not you have a higher financial level then the rest of the premiership and was unmatched for a number of years until chelsea got brought.

I'm sorry but have you actually read anything I've said? Rooney, Smith and Saha went to United because they wanted to. What's that got to do with Chelsea being able to out-bid and buy just about any player they want? United have never had that kind of power.

Now I KNOW you're having a laugh - ever heard of a man called Malcome Glazier? Heard how much debt he's put United in?

Higher financial level than the rest of the premiership?????? :rofl:

If you ask me Sir Alex is glad Malcome Glazer took over, if it was still a plc he may well have been asked to step down.
Also I think the other so called challengers should consider how hard it will be to win the title if Mourinho ever gets it right in the transfer market, bought the title, wasted tens of millions more like, every Chelsea player who is any good was there before he arrived with the exception of Carvalho and Ferria and even they were vastly over priced.

did mourinho bring in lampard and cole or were they already there? I cant remember if they came the year before mourinho or the same year.

russ d thats exactly my point, so many players simply want to play for man u because of their status and history so when it comes down to a player chossing between man u and another "english" club more often then not they choose man u or were before chelsea got to where they are now.
