The extraordinary career of Sir Alex Ferguson - the most successful British manager of all time - is celebrated at the 2005 HMV Football Extravaganza, to be held at Londonââ‚Ã⠀šÃ‚¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢s Grosvenor House Hotel on Tuesday 29 March.

Sir Alex, who earlier this season celebrated his 1000th game in charge of United, will be the recipient of the HMV Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by Nationwide.

He joins a very select list of British football legends to have received the award †“ John Charles (1997); Sir Stanley Matthews (1998); Nat Lofthouse (1999); Brian Clough (2000); Sir Bobby Robson (2001); Sir Bobby Charlton (2002); Tony Adams (2003) and Kenny Dalglish (2004).

Nothing to do with that game. I just laugh at Beasant and Ron Atkinson every time I think about it.

We didn't play too badly, just individual defensive errors.

the list looked so good until you came to Tony Adams.. surely Bryan Robson or Shilton or Banks are better players than him

I don't think its for how good a player you are, its for what you've achieved. Adams overcame alcohol addiction and also did a lot of work to help other sports people who were battling with their own addictions.

Mainly Beasant and Harkes. They had a mare.

We weren't doing too badly until Solksjaer came on.

Does the one you sing refer to the price of a certain player who wears black and white? ;)
