What sort of charge will Virgin make for BB only, I mean would you still get it for the price that you have just now? Obviously depends on which speed you want. The point I'm trying to make is this, is BB cheaper if you have the TV and phone service as part of a full package?

Bb is cheaper as part of a package. On its own, the 50mb bb is £28. The standalone prices are on the VM website, I looked the other day. Hope it helps!

Not sure if this is enough to be able to barter with?

I'd love to see how you get on in Tesco's.

Meanwhile, back in the 21st century...

They wouldn't offer me anything to stay, so now I'm with Sky.

We can confirm that was down to tests being added.

---------- Post added at 14:28 ---------- Previous post was at 14:24 ----------

Six new channels testing, Five been remove from Total Channels.

The following channels are now testing on Virgin Media:

-BBC Red Button 2
-BBC Red Button 3
-BBC Red Button 4
-BBC Red Button 5
-BBC Red Button 6
-BBC Red Button HD

We have been told that yesterday's problem with Sky Sports News HQ HD was caused by BBC Red Button HD tests being added according to my source.

Other News:

-Five channels has been axe from Total Channels.
-As of today No V0-- channels are testing.

I just wonder if, at a commercial level, VM are well aware of the Sky half-price offers and have decided they'll go so-far to compete on price with some customers but ultimately aren't willing to "retain" at all costs.

I recall an occasion several years ago when my wife (before I had third party account access) tried to negotiate our package - she said the agent knew full well that BT broadband couldn't touch VM for speed in our area and so there was much less discounting being offered as a result.

I would tend to agree, VM have done a lot to keep my business over the years, with plenty of discounts given. I think I must be at the point where they will take a loss if they offer me more. Having paid my line rental upfront, I am only paying £18 for my TiVo box and 50mb broadband - which is incredibly reliable too.
