Re: What have you just bought?
Yes we have never been to America but if we could do it in another life sometime in the future:) its certainly a impressive country to visit as there is so much to see in the land of the free.

Re: What have you just bought?
A full size spare wheel to replace the spacesaver that came with my car (mk1 focus). Only cost me a tenner, but it looks like it'll take some work to make it fit 100% (the spare wheel holder is designed for the original spare, which is half as wide as the new one)

Re: What have you just bought?
You can usually buy a wheel and toolkit from your dealer, ebay or a scrapyard.

Last time i got a blow out i was luckily still able to drive it a few files and get the tyre replaced but if anything like that happens on the way to the airport on the M25 then i am in trouble! |
Re: What have you just bought?
Once attempted to assist a lady with a nail in the side wall of car tyre.
No spare supplied with car from new (just as has been mentioned, a can of foam sealer). Ended with the lady calling out motoring service to have a new tyre fitted. |
Re: What have you just bought?
Karcher MV2 hoover and a K4 home jet wash.

Case in point: While on holiday in Scotland I came across a couple of tourists who's suffered a puncture in a hired Focus after hitting a rock and damaging the wheel quite badly. Luckily the car had a spacesaver wheel supplied, but someone had made off with the wheelbrace, or the rental firm had removed it to force them to call if there was a puncture. Of course, this wasn't much help when on a wet Scottish hillside with no mobile signal. Luckily my car's wheelbrace and jack fitted, and we got the wheel changed, but a can of foam would have been no use at all. |
