Terrific Tent comes out fighting.

My Tent Or Yours enhanced his Champion Hurdle claims with an impressive victory in the StanJames.com Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle.

The Nicky Henderson-trained six-year-old was promoted to 7-2 favourite by the sponsors for the Cheltenham championship event in March after his three-length victory over John Quinn's grand mare Cockney Sparrow, with another two and a half lengths back to the returning Grumeti.

Henderson and champion jockey Tony McCoy had not enjoyed the best of luck in this race in the past, with Binocular sent off a short-priced favourite three years in a row but failing to win the Grade One.

Lexus aim for Lieutenant

First Lieutenant is set to head straight for the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown over the festive period following his disappointing display at Down Royal last month.

Mouse Morris's star chaser was placed on multiple occasions at Grade One level last season and enjoyed his day in the sun in the Betfred Bowl at Aintree in April.

Tank takes Bond thriller

Quote:

The Tullow Tank repaid the faith of his connections by claiming victory in a thrilling Bar One Racing Royal Bond Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse.

The Philip Fenton-trained five-year-old looked the part when winning a maiden hurdle at Naas in early November and owner Barry Connell was happy to supplement him for this Grade One contest.

Jezki strikes in Hatton's Grace.

Champion Hurdle hope Jezki was made to work to justify odds-on favouritism in the Bar One Racing Hatton's Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse.

Diakali was sent into a big lead by Paul Townend, but his four pursuers closed up rounding the home turn and Jezki, carrying the colours of JP McManus, looked to be travelling far better than his rivals in the hands of Tony McCoy

Analifet stakes Triumph claim.

Analifet kept her unbeaten record intact with a bloodless victory in the Bar One Racing Juvenile 3-Y-O Hurdle at Fairyhouse.

A winner at Compiegne in France in early May, the Gigginstown House Stud-owned filly bolted up on her debut for champion trainer Willie Mullins at Punchestown a fortnight ago and was a 30-100 favourite for this Grade Three assignment.

The Fugue arrived safely at Sha Tin on Monday and appears the one to beat in Sunday's Hong Kong Vase according to the connections of her main rivals.

John Gosden's charge flew in with the Jeremy Noseda-trained Grandeur, who contests the Hong Kong Cup on the same card at the weekend, early on Monday.

Topper to take Sandown test

Harry Topper remains on course for the Future Stars Chase at Sandown on Friday and is one of eight entries for the race after it was reopened.

Kim Bailey's charge returned to action with a thrilling win in the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby in October, putting himself in the Cheltenham Gold Cup frame.

Sacre a doubt for Tingle Creek.

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Mon

Quote:

Trainer Nicky Henderson said Sprinter Sacre is "not a certain participant" in the BetVictor Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown on Saturday.

The brilliant seven-year-old is the hot favourite to stretch his unbeaten record over fences to 11 races, but has returned "unsatisfactory figures" from a tracheal wash which was taken on Monday morning.

Stellar turnout for Lexus

Bobs Worth and Sir Des Champs, last season's respective first two home in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, are the stand-out names among 20 entries for the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown on December 28.

Willie Mullins' Sir Des Champs has yet to run yet this campaign but he did win at Punchestown after Cheltenham, beating Long Run by three-quarters of a length.

Bob on World trail.

http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...e&sub=&day=Tue

Quote:

Boston Bob is likely to be aimed at the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at Cheltenham in March after suffering a setback earlier in the year.

A Grade One-winning novice chaser last term, he was in the lead when falling at the last in the RSA Chase and subsequently also fell at the Punchestown Festival.

With that at the back of his mind and after meeting with a setback, Mullins and owner Graham Wylie are keen to go down the hurdling route for the time being.

"He's had a setback and I'm hoping he'll be ready by Christmas," said Mullins.

Sir and Star set for Durkan date

Quote:

Flemenstar and Sir Des Champs, first and second in the John Durkan Memorial Chase 12 months ago, could meet again in this year's renewal at Punchestown on Sunday after both featured among 10 remaining entries.

Now with Tony Martin, Flemenstar won at Navan last month but did not impress everybody with his performance, jumping high at many of his fences.
