Nope - got it to work for volume and mute. The only time it turned TV off/on was when programming it to find its own code. Would love it if it did work as that's the only think I miss from the old V-box/shark remote days.

edit to add...

w00t!! TY for that. I wasn't holding it down long enough so it was just turning the box on and off so I figured it wasn't the right button (and on another thread someone said hold the TV button which didn't work)

works now!!

hmmm I'll play a bit more tonight. Tried holding the power button down but doesn't seem to do alot. Might work on another code...

Yes. You need to use the correct code for your TV.

If you can operate the volume on the TV the power button should work as well, you have to hold it down for a while.

yeh held down for approx 20 seconds no result. May be just that I need to get the nack of pressing quickly to turn off Tivo then holding down to turn tv off.

20 secs is way too long. Should be no-longer than 5! Just wait for the green light; and your TV to switch off, of course ;)

You should be able to do it in any order.

Yeh that's what I assumed. Can you also change TV input with the text button? (think I read that here).

OK TIVO is here and install (of TIVO) has gone very smoothly. However, V+ box has been moved upstairs to replace V-HD. While the engineer was here he said looks like V+ features have been disabled and he called back to base. They sent a hit to the box and he left saying it should be working "in a few hours". Two hours later and it's still borked. Boots fine and I can see all channels (including premium HD's) that I should be. However, "Live TV" icon never appears, home button does nothing, V+ button does nothing, pause does nothing and standby does nothing.

Is this still the V+ features disabled or something more serious? I'm also suspecting I'm going to have to call and it's not going to magically start working in a few hours!

The guy who sits next to me at work just told me he got the "do you want to keep your old V+HD box in a second room for free?". His install is in May.

And my TiVo is being installed this afternoon and I haven't had the call.

Please can someone from VM explain if this offer is purely random, or based on some set of criteria?

Boz

Yes. Again, press and hold for each change required.

Just checked and it works on my Panasonic. I suspect it won't work for the Samsung as it needs up and down buttons to go through the AV options so won't accept changes from my DVD remote either (which does still turn it on/off/volume etc). The Panasonic does use just the one button to change, so not any different then using the Panasonic remote or the TiVo remote in that respect

So I suspect this function will be down to TV make.

I'm thrilled to just find the on/off - though it does take a bit longer than I thought it did (and no you don't have to turn on/off the TiVo to do it, I believe Carl was just saying it's a short press for TiVo or a long press and hold for TV) as I can just turn the TV on/off by holding the button and the TiVo stays on just fine :)

OK, engineer arrived about 11am, 3rd TiVo he'd done, pretty efficient with install, didn't offer to let me keep the V+ in another room, so it's gone. When he left, the Network status still said loading info, loading 99% on the last item on the list and this hasn't changed in the 4 hours since, is this OK? Also epg only goes as far as 24 hrs ahead so far, how long does this take to fill up? Are these two things related, and so I need to reboot or something?

Derek

PS Quite impressed with the YouTube app.

Yeh that's what I assumed would work but doesn't seem to. Would appreciate any fellow Toshiba LCD owners feeding back their experiences.

The input on my tv can be toggled with one button too so should work.
