Well done VM! :tu:

Worth the extra haggling to get it "on the cheap" I say. http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/im...ons/icon14.gif

If only I was interested in sports. :(

Seriously though, well done VM. I'm on xl and you can't get much better than free.

You - put a  {Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)} or ;) {Wink} next to facetious remarks!

You - read the sarcasm into the post even if the smilies are omitted!

Note to self: Me - stop taking this so seriously!

guys does this mean that espn will need to have hd cameras at the premier and scottish games to broadcast in hd?

Sky people are doing all the camera work for the football on behalf of ESPN, ESPN are presenting it....

I think it is unlikely that much in the way of sports will be On Demand. It hasnt been upto date. It is rare that many sporting fixtures shown on the other channels are viewable on their catchup service. Must be something to do with licencing. Anyway most sports fans that I speak to say that if they cant watch it live it loses much of its appeal. Not a big sports fan myself but can see this. (all my opinion - of course)

For this seaosn only i believ ei think espn are goign to to do the work themself for the followign seaosn it would have been a bit hard for them to do it themself with this short of time

I thought putting 'seriously though' in the next sentence would do the trick. :)

Don't want to seem ungrateful for you posting the info, but we know. It's been posted a couple of times now. :)

Well come home from work to news that I'll be getting ESPN HD for no extra cost, the 3 HD channels confirmed as launching tomorrow and Channel 4HD confirmed too. ESPN classics too. Pretty good day I'd say! :)

Although we at CF are aware of what is on the cards I suspect the average customer is totally in the dark about what is about to be launched and I would assume VM will want to use this as a marketing opportunity.

IMHO, being able to say "here's a bunch of HD channels in July as promised" and now "here's a surprise bunch of sports channels (one of which is HD) in August" has more impact.

Also, ignoring the possible labour overhead, I would imagine that launching in two phases is less risky and easier to put right if anything goes wrong with either launch.

Some pretty good news for us Virgin customers. Definitely worth the wait! And way better than paying £19/£22 a month for the same ESPN services Via Sky.

Bet that's got the satellite chaps a bit worried.
