Maybe they had to wait for the hardware first.

After all VM are just getting TiVo to provide the software and sourcing the hardware from Cisco themselves.

TiVo maybe couldn't start on most of it until they got the kit to run / test etc.......

Isn't the box just an Cisco OEM box? Just as the TVdrive was a SA US cable box.

Or was this box designed from the ground up for Tivo?

Well VIP50 here and no phone call, mail shot or any contact at all about TIVO, registered the first day the site was available.

Exactly the same for me too.

Me too, although I'm on VIP20. Wouldn't it be nice to see a little consistency in the way VM treats customers?

I had Tivo installed yesterday and whilst I am pleased with it, When I set to record a show or series link I have had to put the buffering on an individual recording or a series link. On V+ you can set every recording whether series link or individual recording to buffer every time without having to set each recording or series link. For a supercharged box of tricks Tivo is supposed to be, I find this absolutely ridiculous! This needs looking at when improvements are suggested.

You should be able to set default padding in the general box settings?

Another here - while I'm not gagging to purchase the new TiVo, it would be nice to have a response.

I've just had an engineer who does TV installs tell me VM were told by TiVo to hold back the launch as the software isn't ready, but VM refused... I'm still looking forward to my install on Saturday though, I enjoy hammering kit to bug find :)

I have tried all the menus but cannot find how to. Can you take me through it?

Its believed to be a custom version of the Cisco 8485DVB which is a HD hybrid digital video recorder and media server that's aimed at terrestrial content.

So thats cable tuners to be installed etc instead of the DTV tuner/s

It's not currently available, but will be added. TiVo in the US doesn't have universal padding.

You should get the option to add padding if you set a series link. Padding can also be added in the planned recording folder.

You currently can only set padding per show or series link.

Why not just link to the posts as I have not seen any new user complaints as most people are just complaining that they cannot have their TiVo now.
