Anyone who really wanted Sky Sports HD or Movies will already be a Sky Customer, unless it's VM customers holding off to see what they're going to get. I can't see VM losing many customers over this, it's not like we're losing channels like the Sky 1 fiasco a few years ago.

I still think VM provide a stronger product than Sky, so a few extra HD channels from Sky is never going to swing it for most people.

To all these people who are saying Virgin are ripping them off over the £7 HD charge. The price quoted by OFCOM was £5.89 exc VAT, which will make the cost £7.07 when VAT goes to 20%. So how are they making anything out of that.

As for the SKY sports and movies channels SD packages, Virgin probably wouldnt give a toss if no-one took them, as they make next to nothing in profit for Virgin. Virgin just want to be able to use these channels as an enticement to people, so that they may choose Virgin over Sky.

If you dont like the price, DONT pay it.

The £7 coves sky sport Hd 1 an 2 and all the movie Hd channels , it is not £7 for each. :)

Iam confused ive just looked on the tv guide and the sd movie channels are shaded and the sky movie HD channels are not .
So does that mean i will get them .Iam on the xl package.

No Virgin Media will remove them from the M Package on August 2nd when Virgin launch them.

It's just so that you can go on the to channel and see the advert on how to get them.

Not unless you subscribe to them for the £7 and you will need to already have the standard def versions to do this.

What you see is just advertising until they launch on August 2nd , basically letting every one know they have them and they are ready to go very soon.

Sky have just announced that they're about to launch their Sky Classic movie channel in HD. Will Vm customers get this one too as part of their HD deal?
