At time of posting Peacock is not set to launch on Virgin Media.

The version of Peacock on Sky will be the free version with advertisements. You only pay for the premium versions, of which there are two tiers.

3 tiers actually (USA) free tier, $4.99 with limited adverts, $9.99 without adverts.

He did say two pay tiers.
The top level still has ads on some programming - which tends to be the live stuff.
It is the pay tiers in the US which have WWE Network and live Premier League football.

I stand corrected, he did indeed say 3 tiers apologies to old boy for mis-reading his post.

Sky Q has gone IPTV in Germany. This will almost certainly happen here as well shortly.

There are only 80 channels, although this reflects the fact that content is migrating to the streamers. UHD is missing also, although they say this can be added later.

It will be interesting to see at what point Sky abandon the satellite system for IPTV - it could come sooner than I expected.

Anything less than Disney+ and Discovery+ will be a let down. Prepare for disappointment!

No recording facility available though for Sky Q over IPTV.

I can't find the source to confirm the details of TV Box exclusivity part but Discovery+ launched on SkyQ in mid-November, so I don't see Discovery+ launching until that time this year on VM, as my recollection was it was 12 months exclusivity. I'll be expecting it on UK Roku about then at the very least, as it's available elsewhere in the world on that platform.

If anything new is coming soon to VM it'll be Disney+ or Apple+ in my opinion.

Will the big announcement be about an new streaming service coming to Virgin?

For all I know maybe the news on prices going up for services like Disney + and Discovery +.

All I was told "big announcement coming soon on an streaming service".

Ah, so it's not necessarily VM related. Thanks for clarification.

So they offer Sky Q over satellite, over cable and, now, a cut down version over IPTV for the same price. I'm not sure how that will work out. It is interesting that they are using an IPTV version of Sky Q rather than going with a beefed up version of Sky Ticket.

That’s right. They argue the on demand services replace that, which I would be more than happy to accept if they didn’t pull some of the content after being up there for only a few weeks. That’s most unhelpful if you get locked out part way through a series.

Agreed, it can be frustrating.

But on demand is just a bolt on extra at the moment. They are unlikely to have an unlimited supply of online storage. Streamers, on the other hand, will have invested far more in cloud storage to make much more content available at any given time.
