Are we seeing the likes of more Stoke/Sunderland/Ipswich (to name a few) scenarios where the tumble is far from gracious? |
Re: Season 2019/2020 Football
Somehow don’t see that happening. With the exception of Man City who were a yo-yo club before the oil money, the rest of the ‘so called ‘ big six plus Everton have never been relegated from the Premiership. Stoke, Sunderland and Ipswich are small clubs in comparison, yes even Sunderland.
I haven’t checked back but I will wager the last time any of Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, Everton or Man United where not in the top division was in 1974 when United went down, over 45 years ago. The infrastructure of those clubs is way above anything that Stoke, Sunderland or Ipswich have ever had. |

Typical England conceding a goal just after they score one.:(

Re: Season 2019/2020 Football
Well played the Czech Republic. The Premiership lightweights weren't up for.it. Wales would have thrashed them though ;)

Re: Season 2019/2020 Football
Repeating myself, Southgate is crap. It doesn't take a top pundit to work that out.
He's mismanging a potential golden era of the England national team. Got England to a semi final of a World Cup. A semi final wed have expected to get to with Steve McClaren had you known the fixtures in advance. Losing on 3 occasions to teams of equal stature and only beating those we were expecting to beat. It was hardly the monumental achievement he's gotten the credit for. Remember the time Di Matteo won the champions league and turned out to be an awful manager? Southgate out, Wenger, Jose or Benitez in. |

Nah. Like others, they leave everything till its too late. Then we spend another 5 or so years playing the same fiddle to get back near the top. No ones got the bottle to make the change when the team is still relatively near the top.
Well unless you're Man City or Madrid who will happily cut a manager regardless. |
