Excellent start to S2. Season preview at the ends looks awesome

Superb first episode. Lots of little Easter eggs. And some proper starfleet action at last. :D

I was very pleased at how good it was and all they've changed after much criticism over S1 in that it didn't really feel like star trek. They certainly went all out on fixing it just for the opening scene even.

I wasn’t nearly as bothered as some that S1 didn’t feel like Star Trek. I was happy with the proposition that we were following the private adventures of a retired starfleet officer. The universe Star Trek depicts is vastly greater than starfleet and I enjoyed seeing it from a viewpoint the shows don’t often give us.

From the teasers I’ve seen, that first episode is about as much starfleet as we’re going to get in this season. From here on, Q has done something naughty, and Picard is going to find himself dealing with some very unfamiliar situations.

Must have been only on paramount plus. Prime didn't have anything

What a superb way to respect and honour the man. If the episodes weren't released weekly and the entire season had dropped in one go I would be staying up tonight and watching it.

A few observations.

Loved the way Q started out de-aged, just for a second or two.

Loved how the trip out through the solar system, riffed on the opening titles of TNG.

Was surprised to see the Excelsior, and it looked like the original Excelsior which would have made it a very old ship to still be in service!

I probably missed lots of other eggs, I'll have to go and fine them.

What made it better for me was I'd forgotten it was starting so fired up Plex to watch Discovery and there it was. Oh and thanks to Q they can go off and do what they want without worrying about changing history. Think it's going to be superb but also hope they manage to put history back to normal by the end of season 3!
