Especially for you Damien, a Chinese proverb: "When the winds of change blow,
some people build walls and others build windmills" ;).

That's pretty much the level of debate I've come to expect from you on this matter.

Apologies for not agreeing with your Express-tinted view of the world and impinging on it with reality.

This is why it was a bad idea putting something complicated and nuanced to the public in a referendum.

We actually already governed our own country.

The implication that misinformation was one-way is hilarious :)

Okay, enough of the nonsense over the BS before the vote and people who seem to think the consequences and risks of it are 'boring'.

You reckon she'll be able to stall it for that long?

There are plenty of rebellious MPs who want it done yesterday, consequences be damned.

I wonder if she'll do anything with the Foreign Aid budget?

The foreign aid budget is set by Europe as a % of GDP so when we leave the budget will be whatever we want it to be

I thought CMD had it set at 0.7% it's certainly higher than most of other places in the World.

For example the US is 0.19% same as Portugal and Japan
Australia is 0.27%

Germany (in the EU) is set at 0.41%
France (also in the EU) is 0.36%

I'd say we have some room to maneuver personally...

I'd agree. I think the FA budget needs to be reviewed downwards and what's left far better spent than a good deal of it has been.

Actually i got that wrong ,the Foreign aid budget is 0.7% of GDI not GDP and is not set by the EU but the UN .We passed 0.7% into law in March 2015 so even if she wanted to do something she can't .Apparently all the G7 countries where supposed to have a 0.7% GDI budget but at the moment only the UK bothered to do it ,all the rest simply ignored it

Can't wait to see how she does as PM, I would have voted for her anyway if it had gone to a vote of Tory members.

It took a woman PM to get us out of the mess of 70's so who knows ,she could be just what's needed and i think those politicians that rely on the old boys club are in for a shock .

Of course. The reference, as you know, is about the impact an unelected bureaucracy has upon domestic governance; spelling this out to an intelligent readership after months of associated discussion seemed superfluous.

I make no such implication?

Okeydoke. I'd like the photograph to be of a nude Charlize Theron; when you sign it make sure you don't ink over any important bits.:p:
