The "Audio Description" channels are only copies of the London versions anyway, so it's not of any consequence. |
Re: Major TiVo update started about 3:20am.
Since the update I have found that there are times where it won't allow me to set a recording from the EPG, or even delete a recording!!!

If a programme won't record from the EPG, it is probably because you have a clash with other programmes you have set. However, it may have set your recording to record at a different time. I have noticed that on certain screens, the cancel option does not work. No confirmation of your request is asked for and the original command to record remains in place. |

I've noticed that about the cancel option too OB. Good to know it's not the software update though. |

I've also noticed that the system is crashing more often, normally when trying to play a recording (but it doesn't require a reboot). What happens is that a much deeper 'dong' is heard and 'My shows' is replaced by the home screen, meaning that one has to toggle back to 'My shows'. |
Re: Major TiVo update started about 3:20am.
Since the update. my Tivo refuses to record any planned recordings when in standyby. I have o keep the power on all the time. It is also reported in the Virginmedia community forum.

(I'd post in the community forum but I find the moderators denial of faults even when the first page is full of the same faults and belief that "switching it off and on again" is the final word in resolving issues and the inability to escalate, follow through and report back, to be extremely infuriating) ---------- Post added at 18:29 ---------- Previous post was at 17:59 ---------- I see "the moderators" are now telling everyone the fix for slow Tivos is: "Help and Settings > Clear or reset TiVo box > Clear thumb ratings and suggestions > enter pin > press thumbs down 3 times and then LastCh." I know a customer made this suggestion initially but to me it sounds like snake oil that might have a very short lived temporary small affect (like rebooting), that Virgin Media have jumped on. I imagine people reporting this having worked, are back to square one after a day or two. So has anyone tried and can confirm if it is still working after several days? As it is, the performance of my Tivo since the update has been diabolical. |

Re: Major TiVo update started about 3:20am.
My box rebooted itself at about 3am this morning, not too long after I'd rebooted it myself to try and speed it up (it was so bad that the spinning purple circle stopped spinning when trying to access 'My Shows' to watch something!)
Not sure if this was a further minor update or not. Curiously, Sky now seem to be copying this update: Quote:

What's a Sky set top box update got to do with a VM TiVo set top box update ?

There's something not quite right with your box. Can you try a "Clear Programme Info and Planned Recs" to rebuild the database? It'll take a couple of hours so don't do it when you've got recordings scheduled in the near future. |
