I know a few who I suspect conflate the two.

It would be nice to get more info on this modem, at present all we have is a cream coloured box, not even any lights on it.

Yes if you go by the size of the sockets on the back then you can tell it is a bit taller as it has those 2 extra TEL sockets on the back that the SH2 doesn't have and it also appears a little wider.

That bit of kit isn't going to be needed next month.

colour scheme is urrrgh for me, I prefer black.

As of now VM are still the only provider to add modem aka bridge mode to their devices I am aware off so kudos for them doing that.

Some other LGI companies do it too (but not all of them do)

Me too. I keep mine in the TV unit (also black) so will have to find somewhere else to put it when it comes out. Can't please everyone though, i imagine the new colour will suit other people.

I seriously doubt that colour is the final colour. That's the colour you make things when you haven't decided on or revealed the final shell.

Back when I used to work for Sony, when the PS3 slim was still a rumour, we had a PS3 sat on a desk in the same SNES grey colours. Few months later, PS3 Slim is announced with the same model number as that thing.

Come to think of it, it had the same shape as the PS4 does now. Interesting.

It would at least make sense to start the switch to the 3.1 modems before the network supports it.

There is some info here
