Hammond & May will follow Clarkson.

The Stig, is a different kettle of fish.

I Clarkson own the rights (like Noel Edmonds own Mr Blobby), then the Stig will follow.

The stig is always the mystery man so is replaceable as is already done.
The BBC might think they "own" Top Gear but the real franchise is JC and mates.

I for one am gutted and even if the other two stay would not watch anymore.

No matter what folk say Clarkson was Top Gear.

Without him it would be the three stooges without Larry.

I cannot wait to see who they pick to replace Clarkson, May and Hammond, lets face it the three of them will not be in the new BBC approved top gear.

Who ever they get it will fail.

Those three made the show. That's the reason there was such a waiting list for tickets for the studio.

So glad i have all the episodes on my PC so i can carry on getting my fix until they hopefully start a new program with another provider. :D

There is now nothing at all on the BBC for me to watch.

Clarkson can't be replaced, there's nobody good enough, Clarkson, Hammond and May are / were Top Gear.

They are a massive loss but it will now be interesting to see what they do. I still think people underestimate the role of the background team that put Top Gear together. They won't have the same show anymore, they'll have to change it.

They were not the people that the viewers saw each week however, any new team will fall flat on there face's no matter how good the people in the back ground are. It was the interaction of three middle aged men who still thought the were teenagers that attracted viewers.

The show was popular because of the chemistry of the trio. There is no denying that. However every show has the people in front of the camera being supported by the people at the back of it. Just because they're not seen doesn't mean they were not influential and the Top Gear production staff are obviously very good. Outside of the chemistry the show also did well because of the outlandish nature of their reviews, races and stunts. They needed creative writers and talented people to put those together.

I don't think Top Gear will do as well anymore but I am not sure it will fail.
