Re: Formula 1 2014 Season
I read somewhere that because of the type of injury it will be weeks before they can even begin to make any predictions about future quality of life so I wouldn't expect any news for a while now unless the worst happens. No news will literally be good news for the foreseeable future.
It's amazing how after a sombre start in Sochi we're almost back to business as usual after a couple of practice sessions. Ted Kravitz was in the fia press conference and he said they were shown the circuit cctv footage of the crash, and it was obvious that almost all of the drivers were ignoring the yellow flags. They apparently plan to take control of how much the drivers have to lift off for yellows away from them (drivers) starting this weekend. |

I can't believe his 650KGish car moved a vehicle weighing at least 6500KG. |

Excellent drive although a boring race.

Re: Formula 1 2014 Season
I think "uneventful" rather than "boring", but after last week I also think that's probably for the best. It's certainly obvious that a lot of teams were relying on a safety car which never materialised.
Rosberg trying too hard again, although he did well to recover to 2nd place. Mentally it must be all over for him - he just doesn't have the stuff. Reliability is Hamilton's only real challenger now. |
Re: Formula 1 2014 Season
Crap. Not been a good weekend for sport. COME ON ROSBERG. Take that arrogant twit down a bit.

Nah, I predict Alonso will join McLaren again. Or Rosberg will leave Mercedes and they replace him with Alonso lol.

Re: Formula 1 2014 Season
He's apparently told Will Buxton that he won't be in a "Mercedes powered" car. If he meant "Mercedes powered" that obviously rules out Lotus. He may well have just meant "Mercedes" but I haven't seen the video/read the transcript so I don't know.

Lotus of course have a bad engine this year but that car is an utter dog and with the internal turmoil there I can't see a turnaround just yet even with a Merc. As for McLaren? Well the car is starting to look not terrible, FINALLY, so as long as that Honda engine isn't utter crap it may be an upgrade from the Ferrari. I don't think it'll be as fast as the Mercedes but if there's anyone who can make the car better than it should be it is Fernando. I just hope Button keeps his seat too for a final year and asks Magnussen to sit out 2015 with a long term deal to make up for it. |
Re: Formula 1 2014 Season
And there's the rub. Regardless of how good a job Honda have done, it won't be as good as the power unit it's replacing. McLaren may well have to take a step back before they can start moving forward, but if Fernando goes there, they're initially uncompetitive while at the same time Ferrari make gains...
As it happens Alonso's now been doing the rounds suggesting that it isn't true that he's leaving Ferrari! In other words I'm staying out of it until there is something concrete! |
