I don't understand how they can increase the prices when I have a contract? It seems all the contract does to lock you in...

A contract is the sum of the terms and conditions and continues past the minimum term which is part of the overall contract

Does the phone increase effect the bundle prices? Will the VIP packages increase in august?

VIRGINMEDIA Customers are facing 2 price hikes in 12 months.

SKY customers are getting a price freeze until August 2012.

I suspect by August 2012 Virginmedia customers will of had ATLEAST 1 more price increase. But no extra content, No new HD, No Sky Atlantic..

Really? So why does it say on Sky's own website:

Sky Line Rental is £11.25 a month (prices will increase from 6 July).

and

Our prices and packaging will be changing from 1 September

Please remember to keep on topic. This is a thread about VM pricing NOT Sky.

Virgin Media Staff
Re: Virgin media price increase
It's the affected service only, so for this rise, only the phone

If you have a Package deal, the increase should cancel the package contract
not just the phone

Re: Virgin media price increase

VM prices are just to expensive
Example VM L phone 13.90 + 4.00 = 17.90 just for evening and weekend , must be the dearest on the market
VM L BB 12.50 and you get throttled for going over 1500mb between 4-9pm.
3.00 PVR tax on TIVO
As a Sky Sports only subscriber theirs a 7.00 charge for HD and you get 2 HD channels.

How do you view the 3.00 Tivo fee as a tax and also Virgin's broadband is way superior to Sky's so customers do not mind paying that bit more.

To me its just another addition to your bill for a few extra features , I liked the overall experience when using my friends box but a charge free PVR will always be preferable to most.

The Tivo is already way ahead of Sky;s HD box and in the next year they will make that gap even bigger as they add a lot more functionality to it.

While I fully respect your opinion I don't always agree with it :D
