Spurs performance tonight was pathetic. We had a weakened team out there.
We should have had a penalty, when Son, was brought down.

There is no chance of us getting 4 goals to beat the Dortmund side.
I don't know why Poch, is doing this.

We have to continue fighting in the PL. To remain on course for the CL

This, at least there's some honesty, it's suicide grabbing a player like that. there's barely contact but nonetheless there is some, to my annoyance counts as a foul (Grabbing him was a foul anyway but outside of the box)

I'm tired of having to zoom in for contact, I'm tired of pundits trying to find the tiniest amount of contact to justify a decision. Football appears to have moved on from being slightly physical to just plain ridiculous. In my views, even if you're touched you certainly do not 'Have every right to go down' that statement alone is a dive. Astonished a line like that has a place in football.

Local sources say Chief Scout Graham Carr may be sacked along with McClaren or stripped of his Chief Scouting duties as part of his responsibility for this mess. It's said these are part of Rafa's terms and the new Chief Scout will be assigned by Benitez. £4 million a year deal for Benitez. So long as it actually gets over the 'line' this is a massive throw of the dice for Newcastle United.

Prepare for pretty much all the backroom staff to be overhauled, I just hope it works out because it'll cost an absolute fortune to get rid of them all if it doesn't

Newcastle fans need to get behind this club and keep them up, with £103 million a season to spend at the hands of Rafa Benitez we will find out whether this club is cursed or not.

The players must have thought they were getting a day off when McClaren was sacked.. Only to be kept training until their new gaffer turned up and took training a mere hour after his announcement.

As long as it was 8 of the first team midfielders we need off our books :D

Hopefully the release or termination of some of these players comes quickly in the summer. 13-14 Midfielders 1 left back, 1 right back, 1 decent CB and 3 rubbish ones.

Even though it's great news for us to have Benitez, one has to question the way McClaren was left dangling on to threads and surrounded by yes men that signed everyone they want in a lopsided recruitment policy. His line ups and tactics were pretty dire and ultimately caused this fate but It's unacceptable to see 'Wonder Scout' Graham Carr going about his day like none of it was his fault.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016

That was a given. He's happy to stick out 3 years and get paid an incredible amount for a club in such a predicament but naturally both himself and the club would like to insure themselves against this. I'd rather him be honest about what could still happen rather than be a yes man and a liar. Far too many of those have passed through our gates.

If Benitez keeps Newcastle up and gets the free role he was promised I can only see good things. This hopefully is the turning point in the Ashley era in which Newcastle United provide the football the fans deserve, the stadium warrants and brings back the one thing fans have missed the most.. Effort. If we go down, at least we can go down trying under Benitez. Simple fact is it's up to Rafa to turn a bunch of expensive foreign talent into a team and build even further onto that. without being big headed, this is a lineup that should be nowhere near the bottom of the table individually but as a team it's been well deserved.

He's a very unrewarded manager sometimes, He's done rubbish things in places as have most but I feel like he did a great job at salvaging what was left of Chelsea's season and got nothing but crap throughout. Liverpool and Valencia naturally speak for themselves and Real Madrid sack anyone and their dog.

I'd like to reiterate and not be as fickle as other Newcastle United fans though. Steve McClaren is a genuinely nice bloke, his tactics may have indeed been pretty awful alongside his questionable line up choices and player positions. It simply didn't work and it cost him but to solely blame this man for what has unfolded this season is wrong. It's partially his fault but once again supposed wonder scout and chief of nothing (Graham Carr and Lee Charnley) have escaped any form of wrongdoing yet again for the mess left for Benitez and his backroom to fix.

McClaren never got the opportunity Benitez had, he forever had people in the back sticking their two cents into what should have been solely his business. He got expensive signings he never asked for, only to then be sacked in the manner he was. It was absolutely despicable by Lee Charnley, say what you want about Mike Ashley but up until he flew in, they really had no idea what the left hand was doing.. and only after Mike came was McClaren dismissed.

To shorten it, Pardew and McClaren were both given the same treatment that saw Kevin Keegan famously walk out of the club years back.

Diego Costa is looking at his first monumental ban in English football and will undoubtedly miss the rest of the season if the FA are consistent. There is no way they can punish Suarez the way they did and allow this to slip. Absolutely disgraceful, it's as clear as day he tried or did bite Gareth Barry, only Barry knows but it's right there in HD for all to see. Regardless, a bite or attempted bite, the head, the clashing with the ref. Get this bloke off the pitch.

Correct, Atkinson is a pretty useless and 'unfit' ref.;)

A draw just about a fair result, neither side played well enough to take the win.

A considerable number of West Ham fans had infiltrated the block of seats in the stand I was in.

It kicked off a bit at half time when they where discovered but the stewards got on top of it quickly.

However one moronic West Ham fan, who until they scored had kept his head down proceeded to run up the steps waving his arms in the air. He was swiftly helped back down by several burly United fans and then ejected by the stewards. It was quite funny when United equalised to look around and spot the other West Ham fans with their heads in their hands. :D

Despite being a long time West Ham supporter I'd love to see Leicester win the title. They've played great football and haven't got anywhere near all the financial backing of the biggest clubs who can effectively buy success. IMHO it'd be great for the Premiership to see a club from virtually nowhere take the top spot and if they carry on in the same vein, stay there next season.

Well done Leicester.

That is of course if the tinker man remains, as for the others marhez is the only one the big Spanish clubs will be after and he'll have to decide if he wants to sit on their bench. I think the others will stay if the boss does as the English teams that come in for them most likely won't have champions league football to offer.

I'm pretty certain Vardy won't leave either but I don't believe it's due to loyalty.

There's a reason Harry Kane is still with Spurs rather than being with a bigger club after his performance last season. Spurs just knew how to get the best out of him as he's developing but this year other teams have got a better idea of how to deal with him. He's still a good player but this season he's been a lot less remarkable. Had he gone to United, City, Chelsea etc he'd be around different players with different tactics and playing styles so even more potential for failing to perform like last year.

I can't see Vardy being any different, he'll still score some important goals for Leicester next season but likely another flash in the pan player who for a season was in the right team with the right tactics at the right time.

As such I can't see him leaving, any side that hasn't won the PL would be regarded as a step down but none of these clubs are likely to risk paying big money (if Leicester were stupid enough to let him go they'd only consider a ridiculously inflated amount) for an almost-30 year old player with an unproven career history.

I don't know about anyone else, but l think that in the Euro's. Rooney, should NOT be on the plane.

At the moment we have a great bunch of players in the squad. And we have seen in the last couple of games. We have the firepower up front we desperately need. And the rear, we have the correct set of players.

I don't think Arsenal have done Walcott any favours, by not playing him (and that's coming from a Spurs fan)

On his day, Walcott is a good player. And if he can score goals for England, that's fine.

But there again, l think we should have said Hodgson after the World Cup. And brought in someone with much more flair - Mouinho or Poch.

Refs are certainly on leicester's side.

2 blatant handballs and neither given.

And as for vardy's disgraceful tackle in the first half.......

The free beer and doughnut was a nice gesture by their owner. We all got free coats fat Mike couldn't sell once. I'll probably enjoy the championship again, we'll retain those I feel can contribute to this club and hopefully we'll lose those I couldn't care less about. Sissoko and Wijnaldum can bugger off.

I hear that Betfred have paid out on Leicester winning the league already. Let's hope it isn't a repeat of the 97/98 season where bookies paid twice in a season.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016

Mike Ashley's skint plan backfires as Newcastle announce £32 million profit despite spending the most money the club ever has in any two windows. He then leaves a sour taste in the mouths of supporters as they reveal £129 million owner loan debt still hasn't been touched effectively meaning the valuation of Newcastle United is still around the £300 million mark, a figure no one in their right mind would consider paying. This due to something regarding the repayment on full at any sale of the club. Just a few weeks ago he was being summoned to answer to MP's with regards to the state of Sports Direct and Newcastle United. Still awaiting this.

Yep Den, went to the game today, nice to have a short trip after moving back down South. :)
Newcastle were disjointed and almost seemed resigned to their fate.

Nice to see JRod back on the pitch. :)

Yes it is nice for Jay to come back after such a serious injury as its never nice whenever someone is out for a long time no matter who the player plays for.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016

Even though there is five games to go, l still reckon its Leicester's to lose.
Spurs will stay second, with Arsenal Third

But, the big games is tomorrow. If Sunderland beat Leicester, then its wide open again.

Being a Spurs fan. I cannot see Spurs winning - prediction is 1 -1. Spurs have a poor record against United at WHL.

Arsenal destruct button ha started. And Wenger, cannot keep blaming officials. He has to go, and bring in a manager who will get in new players, get rid of the deadwood.
Then they will be a force again

Re: Football Season 2015/2016

All Leicester need to do for the rest of the season is match or better Spurs results. IMO, a more interesting season than when City won for the first time.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016

I was always under the impression that PL teams got a police escort to the grounds. I think it was Poch rollicking at half time, that produced the goods.

Poch wasn't happy with the first half, l could see that from what he was doing on the touchline.

I am resigned to the fact that Its Leicester title, and good luck to them. Its about time and unknown side won the title.

I will be happy with a runners up. Great season for Tottenham.

Just hope that Spurs can keep the young squad together. And that clubs like Chelsea, City or United. Don't offer silly money for Alli. He is GOLD.

Right lads.
Whose your choice for Footballer of the Year. I would say its between Vardy, and Harry Kane

Young player of the Year. To me there is only one player - Alli of Spurs.

What about Riyad Mahrez and Wes Morgan as they have been giants for the Foxes this season.
