Yes, because i haven't had time because of work commitments....ie working 12hr days often and weekends.

They not replacing the Telly they are replacing the LCD panel in it, atleast i think they're. :)

Sasha222 14-11-2010 18:26

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

Ah right. I thought they left you waiting that long to replace it. It might not just be the screen that is faulty. It could be something else. They might replace the whole thing.

SnoopZ 14-11-2010 18:30

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

When the engineer came he was here like 1 minute so hopefully he knows his stuff hehe.

I wouldn't mind if they replaced for a newer model, and i guess if it can't be repaired they would have too.

All he did was switch it on and said it needs a new panel, he then said he had seen enough to know it does.

Wow, I managed to complete an assignment for a training course I attended recently.

Doesn't sound much, I know, but it has taken up more time than I realised it would - so I'm happy I've finished ...

Now just remains to be seen if I have done enough to pass the course & get the certificate ;)

Fingers crossed, not that I think for a moment you are going to need any extra luck, that you get the results you hope. Hard work always deserves to be rewarded. :)

Unfortunately, no - however, there are lots of free conversion programmes out there, and on a 22" TV with upscaling, any loss of quality is (imho) negligible.

Not sure if this'll help you, but apparently if you don't like the apple remote, you can teach the Apple TV to use another one.

Great news Fingy, at least with the gender based selective hearing being recognised early and you will be able to nip it in the bud before it takes full hold.

If only this condition, shared by so many men, had been picked up when they were young enough for corrective conditioning to have been a viable proposition we women wouldn't have to repeat ourselves so often. :)

Seriously though establishing his good hearing must be very welcome news. :)

..... though in the case of the older male hearing loss can be a expected sign of old age creeping up, so any time you need one of us ladies to speak a bit louder you just have to say. :D

Really enjoyed him - he can riff on and off a topic at without missing a beat, and speaks even faster than me; he had the entire house in non-stop laughter, and how he used feedback from the audience was a joy to behold.

Funny when push comes to shove and things are put in our way and we dont think we can cope or are strong enough we actually surprise how much strength we have

Thank good its Friday, it has been the bitch of a week

On Tueday our franking machines PSU went bang, so we had to use another but we killed that one. and the engineer had to take the PSU out of the other machine and put in ours.

On Wednesday I had to credit the machine with £5,000, on Thursday morning I had to add another £5,000, and again on Thursday PM £5,000. This Morning I needed to add yer another £5,000, but there was no cash.

But thank god it was sorted. in two day I estimate that I've franked in excess of 56,000 letter/parcels.

All that for £5.91ph

Love letters, literally 'sweet note' in French.

(No, NOT French Letters...)

My happy thought:

Went to see Matthew Bourne's Cinderella at The Lowry last night.

Brilliant, unusual twist being set in London during the Blitz. Two and a half hours flew by...

Good day, today - day's hol, went Christmas shopping with my better half, got lots of prezzies for friends and family, lunch at Harvey Nicks Leeds, more shopping in the afternoon, got home, finished off the prezzie shopping on t'intraweeb, then took the family out for a meal, now finishing off a bottle of red - long tiring, but fun, day.
