It was great, I love going to Lords, such a great place to watch cricket especially proper test cricket. I tried to get tickets for the ashes at Lords but was unsuccessful in the ballot, so was offered half price tickets for the NZ test, which is a great thing to do by the MCC or whoever organises it.

Absolutely Den, lovely play from him yesterday. Top century all round. What a fantastic player/captain this man has become. I can see 3-4 Ashes victories under him.

Glad to see Trott finally playing a few shots:) If we carry on at this rate this morning, I reckon we are on for a lunchtime declaration.:erm:

When does the Ashes hype begin on here? I am far too excited for this series. The series will be closer that the media think, I think we will win, our overall quality is too good and we have better depth in batting:erm::) and certainly in bowling. I think they will push us though, especially with their bowling attack.
Having been at SCG in 2011 for all 5 days, I am devastated Mitchell Johnson is not playing:(
He bowls to left, he bowls to the right, that Mitchell Johnson....... :D

Re: Cricket

England would have bowled out the Kiwis in 2 sessions if they had enforced the follow on. Maybe getting more ticket money for an extra days play, having already lost one, was a factor in the poor decision not to enforce the follow on!

Osem 28-05-2013 11:40

Re: Cricket

The follow on decision was explicable, just, but IMHO carrying on batting after lunch, then setting defensive fields is as mystifying as Trott's innings was the longer it went on. Having decided to bat on they should have had an hour long slog before lunch then declared and put NZ for a very testing half session.

Re: Cricket

Great start but our bowling in these last 10 to 15 overs has been nothing short of shambolic.

I really don't think theres a better bowler around than Jimmy Anderson at the moment. He finished with 2-14 off 8 overs today. Hes consistently good in all forms of cricket, a joy to watch bowl at the moment.
