So what's the story with ESPN? We lose it at the end of this month from the XL package. Surely this must be reflected in the cost of the XL package?

Well everything is up in the air until we know what happens with BT Sports or possible other plans that might be afoot with VM.

As of July 1st.

All ESPN Channels will stop broadcasting on Virgin Media on July 31st.

If VM can sign an broadcast deal with BT ESPN will become part of the BT Sport Package from August 1st.

Virgin will not cut the cost of the XL Package but we may see more new channels coming online as Virgin will reuse the money save on ESPN to get new channels deals signed.

Disagree Den, Virgin have know that we were going to lose these premium channels for months, the launch of BT sports and wether it will launch on Virgin or not is a separate issue for me.

Given the price rise on Sky Sports I'm pretty sure I won't subscribe to BT sport if Virgin get it, if it was £10-£15 p/m it would take my bill to over £130 p/m :( Enough is enough

This is, mainly whining. One moment BT are the greatest thing since sliced bread the next they are poor little newcomers who cannot compete with the might of BSkyB without help from the authorities.

Sigh....

Sports on Freeview news.

Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 has now close on Freeview Channels 41 and 42.

The following BT Sports channels has now been added to Freeview.

CH. 57: BT Sport - showing promo video
CH. 58: BT Sport 1 - no audio, video or MHEG stream yet
CH. 59: BT Sport 2 - no audio, video or MHEG stream yet

Freeview viewers may need to reset your box to get BT Sport.

Gotta have some rumours to keep customers but Atlantic is very unlikely to be a channel VM get.

Well talks have reopened so there's a fair chance that we will get it.

Are there any plans to get more sky sports HD channels on VM?

2 out of 6 is pretty lame for the extra £7.50 a month.

Well hopefully given the planned price rise in October the missing HD channels will be forthcoming.
