Mines at my local GP so very convient to walk to as its a 2min walk from my house which doesn't really leave my housing estate and it's 7pm after work and free. Previously I've got it through work from Boots or even onsite at work but the last 2 years work hasn't offered it.

How long did it take for you to see results on your Dia reading, I've only been on this 2 weeks.

About 2 weeks.
Amlodipine has a long half life, so after a while it builds up to a steady level.

I was the same, they upped my Amlodipine to 10mg amlodipine which didn't agree with me, so knocked it back to 5mg and added 50mg of losartan then upped that to 75mg and my last reading was 130/79.

Just had my Flu Jab.

Talk about fast, there was no one waiting when I got there, the sign said remove coat before going in to the room due to the speedy nature of it all, they were not joking I literally got called in she told me my date of birth I sat down and within 5 seconds it was job done, no questions or anything, all she said was that's it job done and i was like wtf... Is that it?

I feel like I should have been told what the jab manufacturer was and told not to drive or leave the building for 15mins or so in case of side affects, but I'm at home again and not dead yet! The whole process of walk there, get jab and walk home was likely no more than 6-7mins.

I was on 10mg of Amlodipine and had to go down to 5mg due to oedema in both legs, ankles and feet caused by the Amlodipines. Also now on 1mg Doxazosin as well as. Still getting a bit of swelling but nowhere near as bad. My BP is higher than normal due to CKD.

On a slightly divergent note, my brother loaned me his car for my honeymoon - it was a specially imported Toyota MR2 turbo, with hardened /race level suspension.

Fine for me, alas my (new) wife was 3 months pregnant, not happy about the way I took corners, or the ride, or the engine noise, lack of luggage space, or about how difficult it was for her to get into or out of the car. There is just no pleasing some people, after all we I didn't crash and kill us!

However, at one point we pulled up at the lights alongside two ‘yoof’ in an XR3i, who decided to rev their engine and look over. She said to me ‘when the lights change, floor it!’ So I did, there was quite a considerable degree of lag until the turbo decided to cut in - and we blew past the Ford.

On reflection this may not have been a good strategy, what with my new wife and future daughter on board.

Was quite exciting though.

I just had contact with the council that they want to do one final inspection before works go ahead. I already have double glazed windows but they deem them insufficient so new windows going in. Insulation in the walls. Roof works.

I have a wall extractor fan in my kitchen but it's in the window in my bathroom, that needs changing to the wall. And I hope they replace the window net curtain cord screws.

I'm well happy. The kitchen brings in a draft. Hopefully things improve. :D

My council last year fitted a window fan because I refused to let them drill through my tiles.

When I moved in in 1996 it had single glazing in a double glazing frame with spacers. About a year later they fitted sealed units. The whole lot was replaced again a few years ago

A few years ago I had squirrels living in my loft causing damage. The council fit scaffold down the side and fixed the whole where they were getting in. A few weeks later they come and removed the scaffold. Later the same afternoon a scaffold company turned up and put scaffold all round and they replaced my whole roof. First lot was a waste of money for them

Well yes, stops people from being able to looking in, but mainly for a little bit more privacy than being too exposed. They do a job when you have really wide windows. As for being naff.. Basically beside the point, they do a job and they do it well.

I just had the last visits this lunchtime. The fitters will put screws in the new window frames for net curtains. The extractor fan in the bathroom cannot be repositioned in the upper wall because of structural rules. I'm top floor. It's going back in the window.

Asbestos checks. And it's done for a provisional date of next month but works are to be confirmed. They were hoping work was done by now.

Anyway it's confirmed new windows, wall insulation, roof work all to drive a net zero target.

Awake for sunrise must be therapeutic for you though. You must love getting a full day out of life. I occasionally wake before 6am and can't get back to sleep. Knocking off at 10-11pm is great. Which is the polar opposite to my younger years when I had too much energy to sleep, all nighters were common.

I've always seemed to have been a 'late night' type of person, now I'm retired I've settled into a routine of bed at around 3am and get up around 9am (with occasional exceptions).

I used to hate a 6 to 2 shift, could never sleep right and always moody at work until I'd 'woke up' at about 9am :D
