No one knows at the moment but the consensus is that if VM do manage to get BT sports it will be fairly expensive and an additional cost to customers.

Still a chance BT sports will not come to VM too.

I still think we will only get it (if at all) on BTs terms, billing the customer direct so they can offer it free if they switch to infinity.

Which is a total non-starter for me.

Wonder if VM would accept BT emailing their customers trying to pinch them.. even Sky don't do that directly.

Not sure that is any different to Virgin sending out a few letters/leaflets a month via snail mail to customers of other providers. No one likes to be bothered by unsolicited email or leaflets but it obviously works otherwise they wouldn't keep doing it. Virgin is the most aggressive of advertisers I find.

It is very very different when you do a deal with a competitor to show channels then target the customers and try to pinch them.

VM should tell BT where to get off if they try that.

In my experience the advertising is anything but aggressive from VM round here.

Obviously they all target different areas differently.

What I found frustrating is my previous area was heavily oversubscribed and had been for half a year yet Virgin would send so many leaflets through all the doors, sometimes 8 or so a month. They couldn't handle the customers they already had and were not in any rush to resolve that but were trying to add customers like crazy.

Talktalk were the next most aggressive in my previous area. Maybe 4 or 5 leaflets a month.

As a member has said that l went to Sky, l did go back to Sky but l was given a HD box which needed an extra fee to obtain certain items.

Sky Sports can charge more on BT and Virgin:

http://www.cityam.com/article/sky-sp...-bt-and-virgin

"Virgin Media – which does not make a significant profit on selling Sky Sports – is understood to be likely to pass on the hike, though BT has no plans to do so. If BT chooses to freeze Sky Sports prices on its BT Vision platform, it would cut into its profit per user, signalling its willingness to sacrifice margins in order to sign up customers."

" “BT has no immediate plans to review its prices for Sky Sports 1 and 2,” a spokesperson said. Virgin Media did not comment."

It makes sense for BT to take the hit as many customers will stay with a provider once with them unless the price become silly.

Also good for them to make the statement about price rises so that customers can make a decision now and the fact Virgin had the no comment line, pretty sure that isn't good for Virgin customers. Virgin really has to do something to limit the customers that will leave them for BT knowing this.

Got a feeling it will not be shown as the Championship and lower leagues will have kicked off and be playing.

Quick note to say you can see Barclays Asia Trophy on Sky Sports 1 on July 24th from 10.30am when Spurs play Sunderland (Man C v South China from 13:00) and Third Place playoff same time on 27th and the Final from 13:00.
