I don't have a problem with that, but it's not "a truly informed comparison". It's a tiny sample.

You don't get your broadband from Virgin?

I do, but it's ADSL2+ so (apart from price) it doesn't make much difference who I get it from.

BT are playing games. I had a phone call from them trying to insinuate that it might not get on Virgin Media and many people were switching to BT from Virgin. I challenged him on the content difference and he didn't like me calling BT effectively Freeview+. I stated that if BT Sport was not on Virgin then BT would miss out on potentially millions of customers, including myself. I also suggested that BT should fight with Sky instead. I would take from this that BT Sport will definitely appear on Virgin, its just desperate tactics to try and con people in to switching before the deal. They couldn't cope with throwing away that amount of advertising.

Why would be Bt be talking to Virgin if there is not a chance of getting it chill out it will happen proberly a week before they start the channel so be positive as it will come to virgin but the big question is on what capacity included in a pack or seperate subscription

The freeview + bit made me laugh, but it's also a great point - Bt rate their television offering so highly they're bundling their sport channels with, er, their broadband product!

Changing the subject slightly, have received a second email in three weeks informing me that VM think they could offer me a better deal by upgrading to VIP. Having seen at least one other similar post about this elsewhere, I was just wondering if anyone thought VM are trying to get as many people signed up/retained to VIP before they offer some possible discount to entice customers to upgrade their packages as their way to keep customers or neuter the BT Sport threat (or possible lack of BT sports)?

They've been offering friends and family faster broadband for no extra cost for 6 months.

I've had three of these through the post and several emails about upgrading to the VIP pack. I was considering it until I thought, why bother as I've been on the the VIP pack since it was introduced

Me too, although I fail to see how it's a better deal. It would just mean paying more for sport and movie channels I don't watch and getting a better allowance of freecalls on the landline I barely use...

It's perhaps unfortunate that Virgin kept the name "vip" because it leads to confusion, but I'm sure the current vip pack is different to what was first introduced, and you aren't automatically moved on to the new version of the pack.

Would be worth a call - the new collections have worked out cheaper for some.

I too am on vip100 with sky sports and movies, I agree the constant phone calls, emails and mail shots are just an attempt to get me on a new contract as someone with sky sports and mutv I'm a high risk of buggering off when they don't get BT... This is exactly the reason I havnt renewed my contract.

They are crap at targeting offers. I had someone from VM phone me yesterday trying to upgrade my phone package to Talk Unlimited, all they had to do was look at my usage to see that I don't use my landline much. After I said no to this he moved onto mobile, asked me what I pay now and what I get for it so I told him. He then proceeded to offer me a worse deal from Virgin Mobile, why not just say we can't better than rather than waste my time.

I keep getting these VIP pack emails to, I don't know what they have been looking at to think it is a better deal but it certainly isn't my usage.
